Sacramento, Minny, Atlanta, Indy,... RE: AROUND the NBA: Nets Philly open to Harden deal - Hypermav - 02-04-2022 Nets vs Sixers in the playoffs after a Harden/Simmons trade would be pretty cool. Embiid might get inside BS head a bit. RE: AROUND the NBA: Nets Philly open to Harden deal - dirkfansince1998 - 02-05-2022 We have a new contender for worst referee performance of the season. Maybe even worst call of all time. https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1489786002071703556 Ref under the rim blows the whistle. Dead ball. Rozier just throws it up. Takes a practice shot. Davis and Garland make contact. He misses the shot. Refs count the 3. Cavs get a T. 4-point play for the Hornets. Followed up by a controversial (make up?) call with 1.2s left on the clock. Hornets up by 1. Love gets the offensive rebound. Throws it up and gets a foul call. 2/2 from the line. Cavs win. https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1489791560015179776 RE: AROUND the NBA: Nets Philly open to Harden deal - Kammrath - 02-05-2022 https://twitter.com/AnilGognaNBA/status/1489871580863868931 RE: AROUND the NBA: Nets Philly open to Harden deal - Kammrath - 02-05-2022 https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1489702744772558848 RE: AROUND the NBA: BRK & PHI open to Harden deal - SleepingHero - 02-05-2022 (02-05-2022, 07:17 AM)dirkfansince1998 Wrote: Ref under the rim blows the whistle. Dead ball. Wow... That's just as bad as the refs counting John Collin's game winning basket after the whistle was blown against the Mavs. I seriously don't understand how you can get to the highest league and don't know that after the whistle is blown it's a dead ball. RE: AROUND the NBA: BRK & PHI open to Harden deal - DanSchwartzgan - 02-05-2022 From what I'm reading/hearing, NJ might not be the final destination of a Simmons in a Simmons/Harden swap. The idea is Brooklyn might prefer adding pieces to round out the KD/KI tandem for a playoff run rather than adding a guy who fancies himself a PG and needs the ball in his hands to be effective at the offensive end. My question is why not Dallas to fill in the pieces. No one on the board seems to like adding a big next to KP. No one seems to like adding a small ball handler next to JB. Why not a big ball handler who plays fantastic multi-position D and who you star has said he'd like to have. I suspect Brooklyn would want DFS (The size and D that Simmons brings makes him expendable). Brooklyn could use a big (we have spare bigs, especially if you play Simmons at the 4 defensively next to KP). We'd need to add a shooting wing (we have those also, though one won't be available until the TDL). Oh, and we can take on some excess salary to help make a deal look better financially (Philly has to add some salary to BS to make the money work). Doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities. Surely I would do it, but I doubt an ambitious FO would see a bunch of role players as an adequate return for a superstar. I would love to get Simmons obviously. But other teams could give Brooklyn more in return. Getting Simmons for a package of DFS+Maxi+Powell+Bullock seems like it'd do more harm than good to me? Is Simmons (who by his own admission going to need another month after a trade to get into shape) good enough to gut the entire team? Further, lets say Simmons again doesn't show up in the playoffs and has a terrible showing. Who's to say he doesn't sit out again forcing the Mavs to trade him? What then? He'd have virtually zero value. Simmons is risky business. He on paper appears to be the perfect piece next to Luka+KP, but the actual person doesn't seem interested in playing basketball. I'd stay away. I actually hope he can make a full recovery. A player should go out on his own terms always, even if the guy is one of the dirtiest players in the league. But Morris made his own bed here. Hopefully he learned his lesson. RE: AROUND the NBA: BRK & PHI open to Harden deal - ItsGoTime - 02-05-2022 I mean, he’s saying he’s good to go, Miami is holding him back. Is this Miami saying they don’t agree with what he did? I’d like to hope so. I'm not saying it needs to be in the same deal but I wouldn't want Simmons if KP is here. That's just too much risk and money tied up into two players who you can't count on for a variety of reasons.
