Nothing he just tweeted that. Found it odd.

Very odd as a stand alone. Maybe he was responding to something but didn't reference whatever it is.

Given how NBA is set up, January is more important than earlier months and being at your best just prior to playoffs counts more. I can see the point of chosing Ja over Luka, it can be debated, and especially as its a popularity contest, Ja is way more athletic and flashy, while Luka is all about bbIQ and skill, although Ja has major skills as well, but fans like to see dunks. The media likes to make something more of Lukas injury than it was, like as some fans do. But Luka is having a fantastic season. He showed, when it mattered in January, he is a level better player than Ja, Ja just couldn't play at that level of Luka. I agree Steph is a better player, and Luka needs to win championships to compare to him.

P.S. Regarding Booker, this is different. They have the top record, and deserve their best player as starter. I think given NBA is positionless more and more, I would like to see Steph, Luka and Booker. I see no business there for Ja and Wiggins, they are not the level of Steph, Luka and Booker.

Homerism aside, you're not being forthright if you think Ja doesn't belong there with the others.  And Luka is flashy or you haven't been watching. Memphis is 3rd in the West, mostly because of Ja's improvement and their deep bench. For them to go 11-2 when he was out is ridiculous.  That's just my take. Memphis hasn't had their full roster either because of injuries. I love Luka he's great. But I'm not going to disparage Ja because of him.

I think Wilt made 6000 points in just over 160 games

RE: MAVS NEWS: 16th O, 5th D | 5th in West | Luka fastest to 6000 points ever - MFFL - 01-30-2022

Wilt had 9769 points in his first 231 games

RE: MAVS NEWS: 16th O, 5th D | 5th in West | Luka fastest to 6000 points ever - MFFL - 01-30-2022

And LeBron had 6307 points in 238 games so I think he made it fastest than Luka too

LOL

I think the author was on some serious cold medicine. He forgot a lot of players

That's why you need to check your sources before putting out bogus info.

Wilt has records that will never be broken. He was that dominant.

Maybe Luka is the first player to hit 6,000 on his 234th game.

Cato comments on Green in his post-Pacers piece today:

Green plays like no one I’ve ever seen before. I tweeted about this and received these descriptions of his game:

• 150 percent version of Shane Larkin
• Shorter but hyperathletic Boris Diaw
• Halfway between Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley
• Poor man’s A.C. Green (I’m not sure about this one)
• Frog (because he jumps so much)
• 100 miles per hour
• From Jeff Wade, Andre Iguodala

It’s funny, right? Name another player quite like him. He doesn’t have Westbrook’s athleticism, of course, but he sometimes has the Westbrook-esque ability to make these elite athletes he’s playing against look like they’re average dudes.

But he doesn’t live at the rim like Westbrookian athletes. He’s fast, but only in direct lines. He soars, but he doesn’t have side-to-side shiftiness or the ballhandling to consistently beat man defenses. He still compensates for his subpar jump shot by slashing and quickly attacking closeout defenders. He has an absurd understanding of the court’s geometry and the passing skills to pull off ridiculous dimes, but his finishing — an area where he’s clearly developed since being drafted — still isn’t good enough to make him a consistent driving threat.

He’s an active defender who sometimes does too much, although he’s consistently been more of a positive force on that end this season, at least in my view.

I’m intrigued to keep watching him. He’s a baffling player to try to comprehend because his skill set is so unique to this sport, but he’s clearly earned more minutes in Hardaway’s absence.

Listened to this great podcast today. Last 50 minutes is just Bill and KOC talking about desperate teams and what they're looking for. Last 10 minutes or so they start to approach Brunson and his value when talking about how desperate the Knicks are.

Bill basically said, if you're the Mavs and you only want to pay Brunson for 4/60 or 4/70 and he walks you almost have to trade him now to get value. KOC then goes on and talks about how much Dallas likes Brunson but there are potential suitors in the offseason mainly the Knicks and even the Celtics or Clippers.

He goes on to say that he doesn't think a team like the Celtics have the (realistic) pieces to entertain a Brunson trade unless they take on a bad contract and/or overwhelm Dallas with picks, which is something that'd entice Dallas. Which is an interesting perspective!

KOC goes on and mentions Dallas has always had interest in John Collins. Bill then chimed in and threw around a potential 3-teamer with Smart to ATL, Collins to Dallas, and Brunson to Boston given that ATL was poking around a trade for Smart earlier in the season.

Definitely give it a listen for other team's perspectives. I think we might be undervaluing Brunson's standing in the league if KOC says something like that.

To me, this makes more sense than Smart to Dallas. He'd be even more helpful next to Young than he would be next to Luka, as the Mavs seem to have found something with Green and/or Ntilikina (fingers crossed).

Meanwhile, Collins would help tremendously with the other main need we always debate around here.

I like this one a lot, especially if some type of poor man's Brunson can be acquired in a smaller deal or through the buyout market. Maybe Dragic, maybe someone else.

Tbh, I'd do it even if it meant moving Burke into the rotation for the rest of the year. I've liked what he has given the team this season, and that might help him become slightly more enticing as part of a summer package.

I like the Iggy comparison the most.  As Cato says, while Green is a great athlete there are times when he doesn't look like an elite athlete.  So I think Iggy probably has the advantage there and was probably an easier prospect to envision becoming an all time role player.    Green sees the game at a really high level so there is a route where he could be one of those guys who always seems a step ahead.   But there are things to his game that may limit him ever getting to that level.

I am really glad he is getting playing time though and is being directed to be aggressive when the chances are there.  It is the easiest way to improve.
