It sounds like some people around the interwebs are poking fun at the idea of a players leadership council, but personally I think it's a clever coaching idea. It encourages the team leaders to lead and the players to be open with the coaching staff. And the idea of letting everyone play in the home opener is also genuinely cool.

Did anyone else notice how empty that home opener was?

Seems like Cuban tried to get out in front of that. Sales department must've had a poor projection...

100% love the idea. And it might especially be needed at this juncture if the players previously felt like they had no voice.

Who wants to pay big money to then be forced to wear an obnoxious mask for hours? Yuck, no thanks. I have funner things to do.

No one is going out and making anyone buy a ticket, or comply with reasonable requirements. If you don't want to...don't. I watched at home.

Attendance was listed at 19,337, which is just short of a full house.

The broadcasters described the arena as "packed."

Go figure.

I don't understand how people are just now pretending that the "Leadership Council" turned up yesterday and like it's some new thing.

He talked about them weeks ago when he named Dwight Powell the starter.  He said that he asked them for their input and their sentiment was that they wanted Dwight to start.

Agreed. That's my point. If what you are selling loses its appeal, people just stay home. And there are droves of people that might otherwise want to come to a Mavs game, that will say "No thanks" when it includes wearing a stuffy mask to do so.

If it loses its fun for you, then don't go.

Bad schtick, or bad day? Ray Allen? Is that you? Does our community have a stalker?

I was priced out of going years ago. IF I went to a game. I WOULD comply with their rules. To repeat myself, I'm pro-human being, anti-Covid 19. I want people to live. I'm not inconvenienced by the mask. I care about the welfare of others, not just myself. For the good of myself and my fellow citizens, I'm vaccinated and wear a mask when appropriate. I socially distance when appropriate. I don't care about the mask. I feel that those who seem to feel as you do are short-sighted, selfish and few other things. You're within your rights to feel anyway you want to feel. Myself, I don't feel that way. To me, those who espouse the same thoughts you're spouting have made a medical issue, political. It's not.
