If they luck into a 3rd PG during training camp, that would go a long way towards assuaging my concerns for the upcoming season. I have hope that this guy will keep up the good work and they'll give him that last 2-way spot.
I know that's a low bar and that he probably wouldn't even be active most nights, but it really would make me feel a little better.

I like Wood with Luka best. Still have a second playmaker and defenses will not know what to do with those two, plus the 3 defensive minded players.

This always seemed like an inevitability. You get the most out of SD by having him get all the minutes that Luka rests.

I personally would like Wood to start. With the news that Dinwiddie is coming off the bench, I think having Dinwiddie, THJ and Wood on the 2nd unit is a bit much. It allows Luka and Wood to develop chemistry from the jump.

I think our roster is better than last year. We've got tremendous size on the frontcourt. I don't expect us to be outrebounded by our opponent.

Funny thing is Hardy could possibly start or we might not see him for a month depending on how this plays out. What we do to start the season won't necessarily be what we do to finish it.
The issue with Green is you have all of your defensive wings on the court at the same time. Can he create enough to warrant that?
The issue with THJ starting is D with him and Luka together has not been good historically. He's not a creator either.
I don't have an issue with Wood starting next to McGee, but wonder if he'd be more impactful getting his minutes with Maxi instead of McGee.
Hardy is VERY Green. He has some ability to create, but he can also shoot you out of a game
And you don't want to overuse Maxi. The starting D would be fantastic, but you are really counting on the 3's to fall.

I agree with this but the problem is we get the most out of Luka when Dinwiddie is with him playing the second role. This is why everyone has been screaming for a third ball handler because then you can still let Dinwiddie run the second unit AND he would have someone else out there as a secondary playmaker with him the way he is for Luka with the starters AND Luka would have a release valve when he’s getting doubled.
