You are saying that Luka is contributing to our losing based on your small sample +/-. We are currently 4-3. I would suggest that record would be significantly worse if Luka did not play this season. That does not sound like someone contributing to losing. From another perspective, he has the highest VORP and second highest BPM on the team. Box score stats are not perfect, especially judging defense, but they normalize much quicker than +/- stats and make way more sense to look at in small samples. He is by far the best offensive player on the team even while struggling with his longball. There is way too much noise in this small a sample for +/- to read much of anything. The comparisons to Dirk make no sense. You are looking at 7 games vs entire Dirk seasons. I'm guessing if you looked hard enough, you could find 7 game stretches where Dirk's +/- was not great either. |
