The over relies too heavily on Din staying healthy and performing like he did in the regular season and not like he did the playoffs.

We played 3 really good defenses in the PO’s. That’s one of the reasons Brunson’s show out was so impressive. No reason to project SD’s offense on that trajectory.

I am leaning under just for this reason. I tend to be less optimistic most years...so there is that. It protects me from being over confident.
As bad as I feel now, if they can find another creator at 75% of Jalen's play with keeping our limited assets, I can see where we are still positioned ok moving forward. I just think we need that third creator. I dislike the lineup if we just had Dinwiddie on the court minus another good creator. I just hate losing a guy who plays mistake free, is efficient and is tough. That may not show up in the stat sheet always, but are guys you need to fill your roster with.

I don´t think Vegas wants too much early money on the under, therefore the line is probably slightly too low. Nobody is more dependent on their top player than us (especially now without Brunson). Luka still has to play EuroBasket. He suffers an injury, it´s a guaranteed win for all the under bets before the season even starts. On the other hand the Mavs have no capspace and virtually no assets to make significant upgrades that could make the over a lock.

I wasn't a big fan of targeting Caruso last offseason. But when he is healthy, he has been good. I think he would fit really well here as a bench guard.
He is on a good contract now though and I couldn't see them moving him now. I think the easiest route is White plus something else for an upgrade on the wings. I could see them looking to move Caruso though if the Bulls have a really tough start though. I believe the Magic may own their first round pick though.

I'll push back and say that the UTA defense was not notable other than Gobert. In fact, I would suggest their defensive rep is built on 1) having Gobert to cleanup a porous perimeter and 2) having half the games played in SLC (which is a PITA to travel to and is only 1000' lower than DEN). If Luka had been out longer, JB might have played his way into a supermax deal against UTA's defense.
PHX was good the first two games, then CP3 turned 37, became an old man overnight and they were done.
GSW played great defense, exploited the donut hole in our roster and proved why they should be the champs.
