Do we think WCS starts?

It will be situational, unless it just clicks like crazy.

What a nice trade! A former 6th overall pick. I'm happy we didn't lose a roster player.

And if WCS makes the team better, that's gonna piss off Kings fans once again

This would have been a perfect day if they had found some way to also keep Justin Patton.

Mavs got the closest thing they could to Powell...WCS gets to showcase himself for a bigger payday next off-season which should be good for the Mavs...

Still wouldn't mind another big in the rotation.

They could move the Australian IMO

Initial reaction: wow, nice deal.

Secondary reaction:  Probably a rental and wouldn't be shocked if he finds himself in Rick's doghouse.

Overall: solid, low risk move.  Most likely getting a rotation player for cheap.

Makes me wonder . . .

1. Wolves covet Warriors' guy.

2. Mavs want Minny's guy.

3. Minny turns down Dallas offer.

4. Dallas announces trade with Warriors.

5. Warriors leak that they might be trying to get below luxury line.

6. Trade announcement doesn’t appear to get submitted to NBA immediately.

Do I have the order right? Is this an attempt to lean on Minny? Is this Patton character not yet officially waived because he could end up in some kind of bigger deal involving Dallas, GS and Minnesota? Or am I imagining things?

My best guess is that the TE is now $9,648,211....

What players fit into that?

Satoransky makes $10M

RoCo makes $11.3M

Bog-Bog makes $8.5M

Justin (Jackson, not Patton) and WCS were teammates in SAC. Wonder if this means Justin sticks around a while to babysit WCS.

WCS is fourth among NBA centers in DRPM, after Gobert, WCJ, and Marc Gasol. And just ahead of Gorgui Dieng...

RE: TRADE: Willie Cauley-Stein to DAL | UTA 2nd to GSW - vfromlmf - 01-24-2020

Jeez, if you read that article about Warriors coaches saying he wasn’t properly developed in Sacramento, then watch his draft video, it will be exciting to see how he develops in Dallas. Tools are there to be an elite defender in all of the areas that matter most in today’s NBA.

I’m not surprised GSW have him a look and you have to wonder how he would’ve looked if they had Klay and Steph. Add that he never played for a winner, much less next to a guys like Doncic or KP and this could turn out to be a home run.

(Not trying time overhype. I acknowledge we’re talking about a kid who hasn’t made it yet, who is limited in many ways, and who was dealt for a mid 2nd. But still. I’m excited!)

Just a thought on Patton. Unless he is picked up off waivers his G-League rights should belong to the Legends.
