Lebron James on Instagram after Mavs owner Patrick Dumont’s comments on Luka come to light: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus”

That line could also apply to Lebron and the Lakers... just saying... they've been a circus for the majority of his time there, and he likes calling himself the king too. Bwaahahaha! Big Grin

RE: MAVS NEWS: Nico Harrison is a Basketball Terrorist - Chicagojk - 02-09-2025

I think the rest of the year is an audition for everyone.

Can AD play the four effectively? If so, how does it look with Lively or Gafford? Can PJ play important big game minutes at SF? Lively, AD, PJ need to be able to finish games. The are 3 of your 4 best players. If they can't then a change need to be explored. Can someone step up as a secondary creator? etc.

Looking at the Mavs roster, I think you have Powell and Hardy who are small contracts you can add to a trade. Who knows what teams think of Omax...still young with potential or he is what he is? This is how I view the rest...outside of Kyrie, AD, Lively. Solid players on good contracts and good players on good contracts.

Solid players on good Contracts:
Martin (we hope this is the case...Mavs think it is..we will see)
Marshall
Christie (He continues his play, he may get into the next group)

Good players on good contracts:
PJ
Gafford
Klay (I think the team views Klay higher than most of us)

I think the Mavs are positioning themselves to move 2-3 of these players with picks this summer. They can mix and match a lot of different ways. While they don't have a young star (unless they include Lively) they have good players on good contracts. They won't beat every offer, but they can get involved in a lot of trade discussions.

Looking at Exum and Din's minutes yesterday, they combined for over 40. I think one is resigned this summer. While I prefer Exum, they both have advantages. Regardless, I think the role I want them back next year is a lesser role. A lot of those minutes are taken by the guy they trade for. I am not sure who that player is.

I agree with this almost verbatim.

RE: MAVS NEWS: Nico Harrison is a Basketball Terrorist - Smitty - 02-09-2025

AD’s listed injury:

The recovery time for an adductor strain depends on the severity of the injury, with a Grade 1 strain healing within a couple of weeks, while a Grade 2 strain can take 3-6 weeks, and a severe Grade 3 strain may take up to 4 months to fully recover; most people can return to normal activities within a few weeks with proper rest and rehabilitation, but it's crucial to avoid returning to strenuous activity too soon to prevent re-injury.

NBA players with adductor strains typically return to play within 4–6 weeks

Ugh just brutal.  Also for a team in dire need of healthy bodies Grimes went for 10,7 and 5 in his first game in Philly.

I doubt this will be good for morale around here.

Exum is as bad as Maxi when it comes to being made of glass.

Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is expected to miss multiple weeks with a left adductor strain, sources tell ESPN. His absence could stretch to a month.
