It's a pleasure to be on the recipient end of that. He’s gonna generate a ton of great looks for me. On the flip side, it was a nightmare trying to guard him and Kyrie [Irving]. Its really exciting to be apart of something special here." -Klay Thompson. https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1841220548791058719 RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs Training Camp Underway. | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - SleepingHero - 10-01-2024 RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs Training Camp Underway. | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - SleepingHero - 10-01-2024 https://x.com/NationMffl/status/1841194815893225705 Video of Klay and Grimes getting up shots today. Is he by nature a streaky shooter? If he can develop into a 36-38% three point shooter, he will be one of the top non all star two way players in the league. If he stays at 31-32%, he is a good player but maybe someone the team may eventually look to upgrade. Wasn't there some talk about DAL re-working PJ's shot mechanics during last season? Maybe there's improvement coming from time and energy invested by PJ and the staff. Hey, everything is sunshine and blue birds right now. The Mavericks say Dončić will miss at least one week. @espn_macmahon Sources say there is no concern about Luka Doncic being ready for the Mavs’ regular-season opener. RE: MAVS NEWS: Luka To Miss 1 week With Bruise | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - Chicagojk - 10-02-2024 Never hurts to have former coaches helping out. Former Suns coach Frank Vogel is "part of our coaching staff" as a coaching consultant, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd says. "It took a lot of begging," Kidd joked, "but he was talked into it and I'm happy he said yes." I‘m really surprised when he does miss a shot, because it happens so rarely. Will be fascinating to have him as a sniper this season. Full interview: https://youtu.be/tlscuChT8cU RE: MAVS NEWS: Luka To Miss 1 week With Bruise | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - SleepingHero - 10-03-2024 (10-03-2024, 02:56 AM)Knutsen Wrote: Not sure if it‘s not more of a back office role as a coaching consultant? Listening to Kidd's answer in his interview, he did say Vogel was now apart of his staff, but as a consultant. I really would hope he's on the bench as a lead assistant type of guy. Probably not though. RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs Hire Frank Vogel as Consultant | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - michaeltex - 10-03-2024 Being a "consultant" instead of a contracted "assistant", probably makes it easy for Vogel to leave if/when another head coaching position opens up. And keeps the hierarchy intact - I guess Sweeney and Dudley want to become head coaches in the near future. So a step backwards wouldn’t sit too well with them. And by being a consultant the hierarchy between Vogel and Kidd doesn’t get turned around completely with Kidd being Vogel‘s assistant in LA to Vogel becoming Kidd‘s assistant here. RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs Hire Frank Vogel as Consultant | 1st Preseason Game Oct. 7th - michaeltex - 10-03-2024 Frank's not hurting for $$. He was only one year into a 5 year deal with PHX worth $31MM. Does PHX get any sort of offset if he gets hired for a coaching position? |
