I love Lively but him and the mavs need to find a way for him to be more impactful on offense.  I understand he is coming back from injury but he needs to be a 12 and 10 guy with good defense.  Need more out of him.

Luka was the rising tide that lifted all our boats, but particularly our centers.  Even though, good teams could take away a lot of the lob threat action, their value as players was going to take a hit.  I'd just encourage Lively to start taking threes to see if he gym work can translate in game.

I think Klay is a 3 too. Especially on this team. Need more guys who can create.

Good news is unlike grimes, Martin is tied for a few years. Bad news you may need to give something to get off his contract Smile

Nico Harrison: “Well, if you don’t like Caleb, then you’re not going to like the trade. But we valued Caleb more so, and we also got a second-round pick back.”

@nickvanexit

Patrick Dumont and Rick Welts are sitting courtside and they look.... very pleased right now /s

Then asked by another Mavs twitter person

@mavsmarie
Do they look pissed???? Because like this is the dream they were sold by Nico!

Nick replies:

VERY

Mike Curtis (@MikeACurtis2)
Anthony Davis went to the locker room before the halftime buzzer sounded. Not sure what was said, but he also had an exchange with a fan before walking into the tunnel. He approached the fan, but he was held back by a Mavs security officer.

PJ with a stupid foul

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - SleepingHero - 04-18-2025

Bench PJ man.

AD with a HUGE 3 there. Lively has been huge defensively.

Mavs switched their PnR coverage. They're staying high now, shading the double. Basically leaving Edey wide open down low but are banking on the Grizzlies not giving him the ball.

Need more Nanji being aggressive and getting to his float game.

Kidd is trying to take the Grizzlies interim coach to school now

Got to try playing Brandon and Exum so we get better ball handling out there. Then add one of Naji Klay or Max whoever is hot.

Stepped away. Mavs made a little run and are fighting. Just not sure how they build this team into a contender. Seems like the upside is a good, solid team

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - cow - 04-18-2025

Aldama having a really nice game. Bagley too.

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - Chicagojk - 04-18-2025

The bagley piece is just salt in the wounds.

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - SleepingHero - 04-18-2025

Mavs cannot make a wide open 3.

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - Chicagojk - 04-18-2025

Man PJ. Need much, much more

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - SleepingHero - 04-18-2025

PJ is just a total non-factor this entire game. Even worse is that he's actively hurting the team with his choices.

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - Chicagojk - 04-18-2025

For the best though. This team is very mid now. AD scoring in bunches but not getting anything for others. If you think this is tough, OKC would destroy us with our lack of guard and holes on defense. Mavs need to know they are not a Kyrie away from a contender. How they get there? I have no idea but this team still needs pretty drastic changes. The roster they built around Luka is not built to win without him.

RE: PLAY IN GAME 2: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies - SwisherPrice - 04-18-2025

Just a bad matchup for PJ. His strengths as a versatile weapon gets neutralized by a team with size that can play like this big lineup. The Edey/JJJ/Aldama lineup is tough

Guys who can get to the rim and shooting are needed.  Does the front office know this though? Bigs looks so much better when guards can break down defenders
