I know Timpf touched on this in his video where he qualified his love of the Klay move given if the Mavs actually used him correctly but I don’t remember that at all.
I remember he was very vocal about not liking this move given that the mavs had “zero motion.” Feels like he is completely switching up after seeing the proof of concept.
I gotta find the tweet cause I remember very vividly him not liking it.
Still good video from him breaking down the new dimension to the offense.

Oh, I do. I remember it pretty well. He did a whole hour on the difference between adding Thompson as a "corner shooter only" in a spread pick and roll offense vs. adding him for the purpose of integrating more movement and using 5-out dribble handoff concepts with Lively as a hub near the break (which they seem to be trying to do pretty aggressively, btw).
His initial video (when he was hoping Thompson would be a Laker still - that's his team) was as you describe, but there were a few follow ups where he had thought about it more, and those were very much focused on the "if/then" aspects of what the Thompson addition might mean.

He initially didn't like the move, but he specifically stated in a video during the off season that the Mavs signing Naji Marshall had him hedging on his opinion, because he considered Marshall signing a potential indication that the Mavs were in fact going to alter their offense more significantly than anticipated given his ball handling skills.

Mine as well, because he‘s a Lakers fan at heart and therefore very honest and neutral in his analysis. Great that he loved the second half so much - he went as far as saying that was the most exciting half of the Luka era.
