RE: AROUND the NBA: - Chicagojk - 02-08-2025 I stayed up and watched the Jazz vs Suns game last night off and on. KD and Beal were out, but man the Suns don't have much. It took two miraculous threes by Allen in the last 4 seconds to bring the game to overtime. PHX eventually won. I will be suprised if that team does anything this year...even when healthy. As mentioned above, Utah should have won after a really nice comeback. One player who impressed me was their rookie Collier. He was a former top recruit who struggled as a freshman. I thought he would be like a Hardy player who is mostly a scorer. I was really impressed with him running an offense and getting into the paint whenever he wanted. He looks much more like a point than Keyonte George. Collier impressed me. RE: AROUND the NBA: - SleepingHero - 02-09-2025 @ShamsCharania Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will be sidelined through the next week due to a mild calf strain and will miss the NBA All-Star Game next Sunday, sources tell ESPN. Antetokounmpo, out since Feb. 2, is expected to return to action shortly after All-Star break. I'm no doctor, but I watched a video of one recently explaining that eveytime someone has knee surgery, they're basically shaving the damaged part of the cartilage out so that it can heal, and sometimes even removing significant chunks of it. Multiple knee surgeries mean that at some point, the knee is just bone on bone, basically. So, it's not even just the deflation of having to wait through rehab AGAIN, it's honestly starting to be plausible that Embiid's career will be over soon. RE: AROUND the NBA: - RoyTarpleysGhost - 02-09-2025 Yea, he's basically following the Kawhii Leonard path. Both players are going to have to load manage the rest of their careers. No more back to backs, I think Embiid's situation is worse, because of his size. He got hurt 2/12/24. The All-Star break was 16-21 February, so he only missed one game before the break. He played on the 22nd. Of all things, Mavs need some Kawhi Leonard luck! ![]() RE: AROUND the NBA: - Smitty - 02-10-2025 @TheSteinLine Dirk Nowitzki, I’m told, will attend tonight’s game in Los Angeles to be present at the Laker debut of his close friend and former teammate Luka Dončić. RE: AROUND the NBA: - Chicagojk - 02-10-2025 Wow that certainly speaks volumes. I wonder if we will see Dirk at a Mavs game anytime soon? Somewhere in the hopefully not so distant future, I have dreams of a day where Nico and the Adelsons are gone, and Dirk in an official or unofficial capacity gets the hopefully slimmer and mature Luka back to Dallas. So I am all for Dirk keeping that Mavs line open with Luka. One can dream. Nothing else left anyway. RE: AROUND the NBA: - HoosierDaddyKid - 02-11-2025 https://bsky.app/profile/nbastat.bsky.social/post/3lhvqljrrvk2r DeMar DeRozan has the most clutch shots made in the entire NBA over the last decade. RE: AROUND the NBA: - HoosierDaddyKid - 02-11-2025 https://bsky.app/profile/nbastat.bsky.social/post/3lhvrinxkn22r Cool, but useless stat. RE: AROUND the NBA: - KillerLeft - 02-11-2025 A small but hopefully smile-inducing irony of the Lakers signing Alex Len? They waived Christian Wood to do it. I wonder if Luka said "get me anyone but CWood" in his initial meeting with Pelinka. RE: AROUND the NBA: - SkenfromLMF - 02-12-2025 Dude that did not take long At ALL… I wonder if Dallas has any stomach at all for a late season pickup??? Wood has been out all season with a knee injury and I think there was no clear timetable for return. Of course it is also possible Luka didn't say nice things about him, although Lakers had more than enough time to figure it out on their own, what is he worth. Definitely deserves a max contract. Trying to laugh to keep myself from crying. |
