My own personal opinion isn't the same as most here... I don't think it will take a FRP "just to get rid of Tim". I think there's a lot of smoke and connections with Detroit and that they might actually view him as a positive on the court and contract wise. Neutral at worst.

Perhaps Stewart also has to be included and sent to a 3rd team. Because I am obsessed. Lets add Thybulle to Dallas. Mavs can then send Green to Washington for #26.

Mavs would save about 5 million in this deal. It does not free up the MLE at all. Any Thybulle swap imo has to send out Green as well. Then the salaries make sense.

This combines to about 3 million in savings AND Portland possibly needing to make up some difference (MT to JG), while Detroit owes for us taking on Stewart vs Powell long term.
