RE: AROUND the NBA: Embiid May be Shutdown…? - HoosierDaddyKid - 11-27-2024 https://x.com/StatMamba/status/1861614063056200001 Sengun. Youngest center in NBA history to record 7 triple-doubles. RE: AROUND the NBA: Embiid May be Shutdown…? - Mavs2021 - 11-28-2024 Amazing that the whole lose-lose trade between NY and Minny hinged on 27 year old DDV, who is back to being sh*te at 35/32/75 shooting, while we got 24 year old Grimes as a throw-in at 44/38/80 shooting. Will be interesting to see whether the Adelsons will pay up, cause I think Luka, Kyrie, Washington, Grimes and Gafford will be extension eligible next off-season. That´s very scary. Minnesota wrecked their functioning team depth over money. The main problem for Minnesota is the lack of playmaking right now. With Conley being injured the only playmaker they have is the rookie Dillingham. Also some players need more time to adjust to a new team and a new role(Randle). I also think that Edwards' drive game has taken a step back, could be because of the poor spacing(replacing KAT with Randle and playing him next to Gobert). I think Divincenzo will be fine once he gets used to the new system. If he doesn't, I would love him on the Mavs roster. I think that he would look great in the Mavs system. Turns out I was focused on the forest instead of the tree in front of me. Sengun is insanely talented. Crazy to me he fell as far as he did looking back on it now. Even crazier the Thunder drafted and then traded him that same night too. Them having Chet+Sengun would've been unfair. I hope they do flex their wallet. Their reserves are hilariously large compared to basically everyone sans Balmer. While the Wolves ownership is still up for question, regardless who comes ahead, it's easy to see why they blew up their team due to money. The Lore+ARod duo is worth at most 3 billion dollars according to sources. Glen Taylor is a staple for not spending money his entire ownership. Meanwhile the Adelsons are worth 10x the amount on the low end at 35billion. The Holmgren-Lively frontcourt would have been terrific for the next 10-15 years on both sides of the ball. I‘m also happy they didn’t execute a trade for Washington and Gafford with their much better assets compared to us last year. They easily could have become close to unbeatable. Especially Lively. OKC is in awesome position and they have hit on some home runs. They also traded the pick for Sengun for Tre Mann. RE: AROUND the NBA: Embiid May be Shutdown…? - SleepingHero - 12-01-2024 @ShamsCharania Lakers center Jaxson Hayes suffered a re-sprain of his right ankle and will miss two to three weeks, sources tell me and @mcten. RE: AROUND the NBA: Embiid May be Shutdown…? - SleepingHero - 12-01-2024 @ShamsCharania Hornets' LaMelo Ball will be re-evaluated in two weeks with a left calf strain. RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - SleepingHero - 12-01-2024 @ShamsCharania Brooklyn Nets rising star Cam Thomas will miss three to four weeks due to a left hamstring strain, sources told ESPN. Thomas ranks 14th in the NBA in scoring, averaging career highs of 24.7 points on 46.1% shooting from the field and 38.9% from 3. RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - Chicagojk - 12-01-2024 he is a good player and I am sure he will figure it out once the team gets to know itself better, but Mikal Bridges has been struggling. 15 pts, almost 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game one 30 percent from 3. With less than one free throw attempt per game. He is 28 years old. While he is a good player and way too early to judge. The Knicks gave up Bojan and 5 first round picks for him. For reference 12.4 pts, 9 rebounds and 2.1 assists. On 32 % three point shooting (would like to see better). And 26 years old. That is PJ Washington. PJ was gotten with one future first round pick. RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - SleepingHero - 12-01-2024 (12-01-2024, 10:50 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: he is a good player and I am sure he will figure it out once the team gets to know itself better, but Mikal Bridges has been struggling. 15 pts, almost 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game one 30 percent from 3. I think NYK knew it overpaid by a crapton, but even with Bridges' struggles, I don't think they care. He fits so well on that team. His shot looks broken, which I never would've expected. But it's not like they are hurting for points right now. His defense and fit is good enough that I think NYK is fine for the time being. But heck, if they want to press the emergency button, I'd love to take Bridges off their hands. They can have the pleasure of Maxi+OMax and heck lets give them a first or two. I'm feeling generous ![]() RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - F Gump - 12-01-2024 (12-01-2024, 11:27 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: But heck, if they want to press the emergency button, I'd love to take Bridges off their hands. In theory you want him. In reality I'd wager you really wouldn't, even without the FRP. It's about salary. That trade doesn't work as a salary match (and isn't even close). That's because MB has a sizable salary (compared to his on-court value) of 2 yrs $48M. Given his actual play, that salary creates a huge value problem, both for trade value and also in general in fitting him into a hard capped payroll. Just try to figure out how you match the salary. The good news is that the Mavs have assembled a roster full of players with modest salaries and good values - but that makes trading for any player making above 20M a potential issue of it costing too much outgoing talent. Here it takes an outgoing of $24M plus $2M for each extra player, and assembling that $24M+ salary package would put massive holes in the Mavs team that I believe would be deal killers. RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - Ghost of Podkolzin - 12-01-2024 So did the Ball family not drink milk? RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - RoyTarpleysGhost - 12-01-2024 Bridges has been complete ass on the defensive end also, if you ask any Knicks fan. Just confirms my theory once you become a #1 offensive option in the NBA, you quit playing any defense for the rest of your career. See also Jerami Grant. RE: AROUND the NBA: Embiid May be Shutdown…? - Ghost of Podkolzin - 12-01-2024 (11-28-2024, 12:35 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: I hope they do flex their wallet. The difference between the two differ drastically as far as timeline. Cuban wants to see ROI immediately. The Adelsons are used to waiting on ROI, more from a long term wealth (value) view. This long play and focus on worth lends itself to making the franchise more and more valuable and less focus on current profit. Agreed, except for Grant. I never saw him as a defensive stud. RE: AROUND the NBA: Lamelo Ball Hurts Hamstring | - SleepingHero - 12-01-2024 @HPbasketball Opponents have shot 67% with Anthony Davis contesting the shot at the rim this season. Among 199 players, that ranks 187. The 188th player is Karl-Anthony Towns. Rudy Gobert is at 45%. Gafford, Lively, Stewart, Mobley all in the top 20. |
