RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 03-28-2025 @TheDunkCentral Clint Capela is expected to leave the Atlanta Hawks in free agency, per @MikeAScotto “After being benched in favor of Onyeka Okongwu and dangled in trade talks before the deadline, the early expectation is Hawks center Clint Capela will sign elsewhere in unrestricted free agency this summer, league sources told HoopsHype.” RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 03-31-2025 @BobbyMarks42 “A quick exit by the Memphis Grizzlies and we are certainly going to be talking about the future of Ja Morant this offseason.” RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 04-14-2025 The Phoenix Suns are expected to engage in trade discussions surrounding Kevin Durant, per @ShamsCharania “The franchise is expected to work with Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman on his next landing spot.” RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - F Gump - 04-14-2025 (04-14-2025, 11:50 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: The Phoenix Suns are expected to engage in trade discussions surrounding Kevin Durant, per @ShamsCharania Shams has turned into Captain Obvious, coming late to the party to breathlessly offer his guess on things we ALL already know. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - RGP1981 - 04-14-2025 This works in the trade machine. Mavs get KD. Suns get Klay, PJW, Gafford, Cody Martin and picks. Mavs: Kyrie, Christie/Naji, KD, AD, Lively. Suns: Beal, Booker, Klay, PJW, Gafford. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 04-15-2025 @Fullcourtpass New Orleans Pelicans ownership will ‘mandate’ Joe Dumars to trade Zion Williamson this summer, per @FearTheBrown RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - RoyTarpleysGhost - 04-15-2025 Screw it, let's trade for Zion. And then trade him for pennies because "body issues and conditioning" RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 05-01-2025 @TheDunkCentral Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks could’ve parted ways this offseason if he hadn’t gotten hurt, per @TheAthletic “Had Lillard remained healthy, and had the Bucks still fallen in the first round, league sources say there would have been discussions about whether Lillard wanted to remain in Milwaukee. The relationship between Antetokounmpo and Lillard is strong, as is the respect level, but the imperfections of their on-court pairing remained in their second season together. And with the group’s collective limitations growing more evident by the month, a conversation was looming about whether Lillard and the Bucks might be better off parting ways.” RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 05-01-2025 @Fullcourtpass LeBron James on if he would play somewhere besides the Lakers next season "Just continuing to play, I don't know where I'm at. That's what that is. Not coming back to play here. Just playing, period." RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - FireNicoHarrison - 05-01-2025 (05-01-2025, 08:49 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: @Fullcourtpass LeBron trust me, resign there for 100M 2years contract... We need you. Let's go Fakers. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 05-01-2025 @thedunkcentral “The rest of the league is bracing for some level of change to come to the Celtics from their roster this offseason.” - @ShamsCharania RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - ballsrchr - 05-01-2025 (04-15-2025, 02:53 PM)RoyTarpleysGhost Wrote: Fuck it, let's trade for Zion. Again, Shams' breathless scoop is not telling the world anything that every NBA observer doesn't ALL already know. Why? BOS's payroll is set to explode, with some huge extensions kicking in. It's very possible they may also want to re-sign Horford (only making 9.5M). If they only do that, their payroll would be almost $240M, but the worst part for them is that they will be a repeater tax team and their tax on top of that would be another $260M or so. That's a massive check to write, essentially money tossed in the trash. Not sure if another title changes their willingness to spend (or if falling short this season has an even bigger impact), but it sure seems like they will have to jettison a boatload of salary (and talent). For reference, the Apron 2 line will be at about $208M. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - FireNicoHarrison - 05-02-2025 Win another ring would be the perfect end of that group and probably they can trade Brown or Tatum without too much riot in the city.... Or maybe the opposite. I don't know hahaha RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - Chicagojk - 05-02-2025 Question, how does Boston even reduces salary? I think the most common thinking is they trade porzingis and Holiday. Although with limited teams with cap space available, how can they reduce salary for next year? RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - RasheedsBigWhiteSpot - 05-02-2025 (05-02-2025, 05:26 AM)Chicagojk Wrote: Question, how does Boston even reduces salary? Klay + PJ for Holliday + Washington's 2nd + Boston's 2027 1st - top 10 protected Boston trims long term money by receiving shorter contracts. They can either keep Klay and PJ or trade them, especially as their deals become even more valuable. I think PJ could net a protected 1st at the deadline. Dallas gets a ballhandler and defender on the same timeline as Kyrie and AD, AND it starts a new Dallas negotiating rule: EVERY trade MUST return draft capital. Holliday, Kyrie, Naji, AD Lively RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - Knutsen - 05-02-2025 (05-02-2025, 10:35 AM)RasheedsBigWhiteSpot Wrote: Klay + PJ for Holliday + Washington's 2nd + Boston's 2027 1st - top 10 protected Way too much value given to Boston - if they are in salary cap hell they need to trade good players for nothing and maybe add picks on top of it. The alternative could be stretch waiving someone.
