Covid ate my homework.

I had the Mavs winning 49-50 games and finishing second in the West behind Phoenix. I’m a little disappointed in the season. Very little has been added to the roster over the past two years, so progress has stalled a bit. But, they are a tad better than last season, so I’ll take that and hope this is the off-season they actually do something positive.

With 42 wins, the Mavs performed on the very low end of expectations. The regular season has been a disappointment.  But, the Mavs seem much better constructed at the wing position to take on the Clippers.  That will be the real measuring test.

Yes on the regular season.

No on the wing matchup. JR is not going to be a positive matchup against anyone for the Mavs. It is going to take stupid hot shooting from the Mavs to win and high level intensity. I don't see it. I don't think this ends well for the Mavs.

Look at NBA ranking thread.
Mavs were mostly between 4th and 7th, so when it comes to ranking we were right there with expectations

I wonder what the oddsmakers set as the over-under on Mavs 20-21 record before the season began.

Respectable-ish. Powell is still starting games, so it's a double prediction win for me.

So looking at the poll we were way too optimistic lol but a lot of stuff did happen (Covid, injuries) so in that sense you could argue Mavs would have fared better had things not gone crazy. Still we were too high on J Rich and all that. Oh well. Still feels like a great season all things considered.
