RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - KillerLeft - 12-18-2025 Big boy game played with white knuckles in the paint, and the Mavs prevailed. They are playing hard - can’t claim otherwise. If he does left, he’s almost always trying to get to the rim. If he goes right, he’s usually looking for a 1-3 dribble pull up. All without being any threat from three yet. It seems like his contesting shots has gotten so more noticeable than the beginning of the year. He is really going after shots at the rim. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - Jakeospikez - 12-18-2025 AD didn't have his best game on offense today but Tobias got destroyed by Flagg and was pretty much unplayable. Think that alone forces them to make a move for a big. Flagg & PJ + AD/Gaff is really nice rim protection at all times they can take gambles. 1st time in Mavs history 4 guys had 3+ blocks each think that's what the stat was. Because they aren’t playing him at PG. seriously, not being the smallest guy on the floor is playing a huge role in that positive trend on his defense. He’s not on ball so much on defense, and can shine as a weak side help defender. My opinion. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - Chicagojk - 12-18-2025 I think Detroit should stay still on any moves. Maybe a small move for a bench shooter. Especially if Robinson is hurt. They aren’t going to win it all this year, but they have some interesting, young wings who are trying to figure things out. I wouldn’t move them for some kind of win now move. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - HoosierDaddyKid - 12-18-2025 Detroit had 26 offensive rebounds. That's insane. It's how they got back in the game. They missed Ausar though when he got ejected. He does so much for them. Great game though. Flagg is the real deal, great consolation prize after losing Luka. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - Chicagojk - 12-19-2025 AD was ill And said he threw up twice during the game. I believe he had the Detroit flu
RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - Winter - 12-19-2025 Just watched Bickerstaff's post game. Man was he pissed. One refereee got under his skin bad. The ejection probably shouldn't have happened, but apparently there's some history as well. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - DanSchwartzgan - 12-19-2025 I'm still firmly in the camp of acquiring younger players and picks in the right deal. But man it has been fun to watch games since AD came back. Earlier in the season Flagg was clearly deferring to AD. Now, it is the other way around. Imagine the late game execution when the 4th Quarter King comes back from injury. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - michaeltex - 12-19-2025 The last quarter felt like a rugby match broke out at an NBA game. I think DET go PO'd after Thompson got tossed (it was deserved, you don't body up a ref) and started playing with extra aggression and emotion, but the refs didn't want to escalate it any more than they had to. So you ended up with the scrums in the paint for the rest of the game. Definitely helped DET get back in the game. Felt a little like the "Bad Boys" were reborn. But let's not forget that DAL was up 6 when Thompson got tossed. Or that DET is currently leading the East with the 2nd best overall record, leading the NYKs by 1.5 games. There's some fight in this team. Even AD seems to be buying in. They may not be a contender, but if they can get some scoring back (Kyrie) then DAL could be a hard out in the playoffs. It also means some hard decisions between maxing competitiveness vs maxing trade value for the next few months. You wouldn't have thrown Thompson out? Man, I thought the ejection was clearly deserved. I can't believe he thought he'd get away with acting like that. It was worse than anything I've ever seen from Draymond Green, Rasheed Wallace or any of the ref-hating players I can think of atm. It was scary behavior, imho. The way it's edited makes it look much less intimidating than it was. They cut about a second of it out, right as he sped up, menacingly, clearly intending to intimidate and bump the official all along. It looked like he was going in to start a fight, honestly. It was one of the most blatantly disrespectful moments I've ever seen from a player to a ref, and again, that edit takes something off of it. Watching it live, I would've been shocked and disappointed had he not been ejected, and frankly would've felt the same way had it been a Mavs player. The version to find is the one that shows the first angle from that edit from start to finish. That's the view we got live, and it was CRAZY. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - Winter - 12-19-2025 I guess I never saw that one. Refs are a no-touch zone, especially if you come at them agitated, disrespectful and with an intimidation attitude. There was a huge difference in FTs, 36 to 20, in the Mav's favor. Looking at how some of the top teams are playing defense now, is the philosophy to just play physical and dare the refs to call it? DET did it, OKC did it, HOU did it. Is this the new normal? Notice the quick, angry energy. Movement from the head and arms, that, to me, communicate "I'm coming to punch you in the face." Then, finally, the "bump," which isn't that bad, but is against the rules, period. Automatic ejection, and why on Earth did he feel the need to get so close to the ref in the first place? Can't let players get away with this, sorry. Who knows what type of behavior would come after. I like Thompson and all - nothing against him. I just think he let his emotions get the better of him for like 1.3 seconds, and paid the price. However, even before that, it seemed that bald headed referee had a chip on his shoulder. Yeah, from Bickerstaff's post game comments, it seems clear that ref and DET don't love each other. That might be totally valid. RE: Game 28: Detroit Pistons (21-5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (10-17) - KillerLeft - 12-19-2025 Don't know how I found this guy, and he's pretty hit and miss, but the best of his content is among my favorite NBA content on Youtube. He's a Pistons fan, so this is a good one to introduce him to Mavs fans. https://youtu.be/5UwPrrLNEdk?si=U0f_T9kgmYXSBDyR My favorite part is the "Tobenten Harris" bit. |
