My opinion is that for a kid who should be playing in his first college basketball game, playing in the NBA is a massive adjustment and he has plenty of learning to do without the unnecessary complication of playing completely out of position.
I'm not saying he would learn less next to Kyrie, I'm saying he's learning different content.
He may never play like this to such an extent ever again, but Kidd is convinced this content is valuable for him right now.

I get your point, but I honestly trust Kidds baskeballbrain a bit more. And I can understand his thinking: let's give him a try. He's capable of handling such duties, only question is to what extent on the highest level.

Plus, he didn't want to bench Klay. And wanted to use the window of a depleted roster for this experiment.

Yet, he has already changed the rotations, so let's now long he keeps using Flagg like that.
