RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:26 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: Just so I can decide if I need to live in abject terror until the deadline...there's no realistic way for the Mavs to offer a landing spot for Brad Beal in a way that would enable PHX to unclog themselves for productive business in a multi-team deal, right? No way unless they want to do a 5 for 1 swap. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:27 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: I think we're all in what's called "the bargaining stage." Which of the seven is that? Is the end of the grieving process in sight? Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever get over this. I still remember losing Nash. This stings 10x as much and the more that comes out about how Luka just wanted to stay just piles on RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - msf4717 - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:27 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: I think we're all in what's called "the bargaining stage." Insanity. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - BigDirk41 - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:23 PM)RoyTarpleysGhost Wrote: Gafford, PJ, Klay, and picks for Devin Booker. They might give us KD for that. Honestly Lonzo makes a lot of sense right now. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:34 PM)BigDirk41 Wrote: They might give us KD for that. We’re off about 15 mil there. Booker is cheaper. I really do think the expendables are Naji, Gafford, Grimes ( ![]() Naji+ Gafford gives us about 22 mill to work with. Maybe we use that to get a Cam Johnson? Then go out to the bargain bin and hope Lonzo Ball is ready to play 38 mins a game? RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - BigDirk41 - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:37 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: We’re off about 15 mil there. Damnit..lol. Thanks for the explanation though. I don't know how they salvage this disaster. Everything is a must win now. I'm curious what they do next. I'm also scared of what they do next. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - BigDirk41 - 02-03-2025 I fully expect either Gafford or Lively to be traded by Thursday and I'm hoping it's Gafford. That being said if Lively gets the Mavs a win now player, we know what the soulless Nico will do. He would trade his own mother for the right player. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - SleepingHero - 02-03-2025 I’m also just realizing, perhaps Nico doesn’t want to lose Gafford right now because Lively is hurt for the foreseeable future. If they really think AD is a 4, then we need a 5 and that is Gafford. So Gafford is probably on the move, but probably in the summer. Which hurts our chances to add any significant player right now anyways. Makes me wonder if they are going to go even harder at buyout guys than we think. I can see the line of thinking, but it's going to take Gafford's salary to get anyone he wants so I think he'll trade him with the promise to AD that he will be the 4 once Lively returns. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - BigDirk41 - 02-03-2025 I say we empty the chest for Booker since we can get to his salary if that's a deal to be had. Since Beal won't waive his no trade clause, it might be possible if they don't get a KD deal that they like. Mavs if they make a small trade, say Hardy for a FRP or whatever doesn’t matter, can now offer 2 pretty good buyout contracts and stay far away from the first apron line. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - BigDirk41 - 02-03-2025 I just wanted to say one more time "Fuck you Nico" RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: - KillerLeft - 02-03-2025 (02-03-2025, 03:44 PM)BigDirk41 Wrote: I say we empty the chest for Booker since we can get to his salary if that's a deal to be had. Other than Dallas, teams don't trade stars in their mid-twenties unless they have to. The reason we're reading about KD trades is that they've figured out that have to retreat and try AGAIN to build around Booker. But yes, that would be cool.
