He might become a better player next to Flagg and with an increased usage role. Flagg needs teammates who can run with him and who can hit 3's. Risacher would be a nice fit in both areas. AD did neither of these things. Cuban posted something along the lines of "just wait until we get some shooters around Flagg" or some such. Other than a few backup guard minutes from Branham (which could have also come from Hardy), we didn't do anything today to add shooting. Golden State was of the belief that Milwaukee is not serious about trading their 2x MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo at the deadline. I woke up to the Kuminga to ATL news and can't help but wonder what their plan is at the Wing. Risacher was already getting pinched for minutes and now they add Kuminga to the list. Hmm... What about a 3-team deal that combines all the rumors. ATL: Gafford DET: Naji, SRP (ATL) DAL: Kuminga, Saric, FRP (DET) The financials are interesting in that this adds $3.6M to DET payroll. It adds $5.8M to DAL. It keeps DET ~$2M under the tax. It keeps the Mavs ~$1.6M under. All of this depends on how much you like Kuminga. I'm not a believer, but maybe the Mavs are. He fits the 'young guy and a pick' for the combo of Gafford+Naji. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - RoyTarpleysGhost - 02-05-2026 I thought Stein said the Hawks have moved on from Gafford after trading for Landale. https://www.reddit.com/r/AtlantaHawks/comments/1qw8kvv/mavs_wanted_a_first_for_daniel_gafford_hawks/ RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - RoyTarpleysGhost - 02-05-2026 [Fischer] Sources: After trading James Harden to Cleveland earlier this week, the Clippers have still been receiving calls on starting center Ivica Zubac, with the Indiana Pacers prime among his suitors. Indiana still needs a center. Stein has been wrong quite a bit. Not throwing any punches, just that he posted their direct interest about 5 minutes before the Landale deal. ![]() All I’m really getting at is what the heck are the Hawks doing with all those Wings and Landale as their big Center addition?? Do the Mavs actually like Kuminga as a fit with Flagg? Probably nothing, but what else is there to talk about?! RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Chicagojk - 02-05-2026 ATL takes an upside swing at Kuminga using an expiring salary. Does this impact their cap room? I guess Kuminga can be an expiring too right? Kuminga plays the same position as the Hawks young all star. Is there enough minutes for him? Also, how does this impact the minutes for Rishacher? I guess it probably has little downside trading for Kuminga but is sort of an odd fit. A lot of 2-4 on that team now. What is the reason for GS to do this? Does it help them at all moving forward. They get off Hield? Is it just to end the Kuminga circus? KP could help if healthy, but what is exactly is help for a team who is probably a play in team? RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Chicagojk - 02-05-2026 Was listening to Zach Lowe's podcast yesterday. It was the one right after the Mavs beat the Knicks in Madison Square Garden. He mentioned he went to the game and was sitting next to a mavs executive. He said later that he thought if the Mavs had their wishes they would just try to clear the decks and get off AD (checkmark). He then mentioned he thought they would look to trade Gafford too (we will see). Just found it interesting. Not throwing any punches, just that he posted their direct interest about 5 minutes before the Landale deal. What exactly was wrong in what Stein said? He said they are interested, he didn't say the deal is done. Atlanta is not doing anything this season. Landale is definitely not their big center addition, just something to survive rest of this season. Their big moves will be coming in the summer, imho. They will have a lot of flexibility than, plus they will know who they are getting with Pels pick. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - omahen - 02-05-2026 Stein also said Atlanta is offering SRPs and Mavs demand a FRP for Gafford. Quite obviously, neither team has changed their position, so the trade didn't realize. At least not yet, everyone still has time to change their mind in next couple of hours. However, based on where Atlanta is results wise, I would be really surprised if they would be throwing FRP(s) or other valuable assets for improvements around the edges. They need something much bigger first. Below is one sources view of Atlanta's updated depth chart. Hield makes a lot to be third string, but that situation could correct itself when Kennard expires in the summer. Atlanta has a top 5 pick and could land a CJ replacement. Everyone currently has a quality backup except Okongwu. As much as I'd like to snag Risacher or Kennar, to me, the logical deal would be Kennard/Gueye/Pick (or swap) outgoing. Starter 2nd 3rd 4th PG: Dyson Daniels CJ McCollum Keaton Wallace SG: Alexander-Walker Corey Kispert Ray J Dennis SF: Zaccharie Risacher Luke Kennard Buddy Hield Caleb Houstan PF: Jalen Johnson Jonathan Kuminga Asa Newell C: Onyeka Okongwu Mouhamed Gueye Jock Landale Christian Koloko RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Smitty - 02-05-2026 (02-05-2026, 08:30 AM)omahen Wrote: Stein also said Atlanta is offering SRPs and Mavs demand a FRP for Gafford. I'm not saying that it's likely that Gafford gets traded to ATL. I just don't think that the Landale addition keeps them out of talks is all. You're free to think otherwise of course. We still have 6 hours to talk about anything and everything

I think you have to view that Atlanta can play any two of Johnson, Risacher and Kuminga at all times to make this worthwhile. Hield's contract seems like a steep price to pay for a test-drive/expire shot at Kuminga. They already had an expiring in KP. Kennard expiring fixes some of their excess though there really isn't a need for both Kispert and Hield. We still have 6 hours to talk about anything and everything I totally agree they are likely still talking (teams talk all the time anyway). I will just be surprised if they change their position on FRP. I think it is more likely that Mavs accept a trade with SRPs as I am not sure if Gafford really is a medium or long term center solution next to Flagg. Who else needs center? Chicago doesn't have a single center on the roster, but I don't think they are in business of giving away picks after the moves they did so far. There is probably a lot of interest in Dosunmu around the league, so value could be found here. Lakers might be looking for a center upgrade, but Mavs don't want to deal with them. I think Indy could be most realistic option. I think a swap for Mathurin makes a lot of sense for both teams. However it seems Indy will first try their luck with some better centers (rumors about their offers for Zubac). If they are rejected, I could see them making a move for Gafford. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Chicagojk - 02-05-2026 So does Sabonis get traded today? There was some talk about Kings and Raptors. Why would the Kings want RJ to add to all their Ok wings? I think it is fair that they are holding off for a first round pick. What other sneaky teams would be Sabonis suitors? There is also rumors that the Kings could buyout Derozan. He would be an attractive candidate if he is bought out. Do the Bulls pick a direction or do they just stick in no mans land for another year? How crazy that the Pelicans are one of the worst teams in the league and don't have their first round pick, but appear to be fine just staying still at the deadline? Keep an eye on Philly too. Never discount Morey looking to make a deal. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - omahen - 02-05-2026 So, who else will be traded in remaining hours? There is of course still the big G deal in discussions, but it is becoming less certain it will happen. Denver and Phoenix will make moves to get under the tax. Probably just something small involving dumping small salary for SRP type of deal. Nets need to get rid of one player to get to 15 after the Agbaji trade. Also I think there is almost certain that Morant will be traded. Than there is a big bunch of players that could be moved but their respective teams could also be looking to move their decisions to summer. Gafford, Ayo, Giannis, Sabonis, there were rumors about Allen, Mathurin, Minny might still go after PG if Giannis doesn't happen for them, Lakers will probably move Knecht, will Sacramento find takers for Monk and DeRozan? After the moves that have been made, which teams are most desperate to do something?
