In joining the Mavericks, Davis will play alongside center Daniel Gafford and eventually Dereck Lively II when he returns from his recent ankle stress fracture.
“I think if you look at the Cleveland Cavaliers, that’s what you’re going to see,” said Harrison, a reference to Cleveland’s imposing frontcourt of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. “Anthony’s probably going to finish games at the five, but you’re going to see those guys play together. And when Lakers won, he played the four.”
Harrison said that as of early Sunday morning, he had not communicated directly with Doncic, but, rather Doncic’s agent Bill Duffy.

They were $5.1M over prior to the trade.
If the roster is correct and the Mavs have plenty of room to operate below the first apron, what follows? Has anyone brought up the possible Jimmy Butler angle? This is so depressing to type out.
Not a chance that AD plays center. He’s been harping his entire career about wanting to be a full-time 4, alongside a real center.
The guy who gets bumped is PJ, but he’s so effective defensively against 1-4 that he can pretty easily slide to the 3.
It’s almost a Cleveland-like lineup now.

I've always thought we'd lose Luka to LA or NY eventually but figured the consolation would be 4 draft picks and a budding star at minimum to get the conversation started.

I’m aware that he can and will play alongside other 5’s. Until Lively is back, he’ll definitely have to play five. Gafford won’t play 48 minutes and any lineup with PJ/Davis as the front court will have Davis as the 5.

I won't be surprised if they both get traded by the deadline. Obviously nobody is untouchable for Nico. That man should lose his job immediately and never be allowed back into the NBA. The fallout from the Mavs fan base is going to be like nothing the NBA has ever seen.
