That is an interesting one. Toronto is a tough team to figure out what they will do. They have made some strange moves. They have been playing better lately.
Kleber would just be a contract for them. Is the upside of Hardy and a high second enough? They already have a young scoring guard in Walker.
Would Dallas do it? Can Olynk play PF?
It is an interesting trade because that is probably a pretty solid haul for Olynyk. Other teams may beat that with multiple seconds but the Philly second has a chance to be a top 45 pick...maybe higher.

That makes it a lot harder to pay for Grimes and stay under the first apron.
At this point I would rather simply dump Maxi contract to pay for Grimes and go with draft and small moves in offseason. This FO has been so good recently with getting a lot with very little in the offseason, I don't see any reason to hamper it.

OLYNYK. Olynyk is a mediocre backup-level guy (only used about 15 mpg on a really bad team). Not a good defender. Not a rim protector. Can make 3s but doesn't take a lot of them. No problem. I didn't know it was against policy to post articles from other sources, yet I see copy/paste articles on here all the time, like from Hoopshype and other publications. It's all good, though.

Even as someone that isn’t high on Maxi or Hardy moving forward, I share your opinion. Feels like a move to make a move. I personally would rather stand pat if this is the best you can get for those two and a quality SRP.

I am sort of a fan. I am no expert on his game though. My main concern is can he play some backup PF. I think he is a guy who is probably better on a good team. He is pretty skilled, smart and good size. I just wound't have interest if he was strickly a Center in our defense. I would also need to think if I would do the deal as discussed.

I don’t see the angle either. Other than Turner being in trade rumors every year and the Mavs having had interest in the past. Gafford would surely be part of any hypothetical trade, imo.

I think Gafford's play in 2025 has moved him into the "don't trade" category, at least for the rest of this season.
Unless it's for Wemby or Holmgren. But I worry about a "Ralph Sampson" career for both, initial league impact, then All Star level good for a few years, then breaking down physically.
A little concern about that for our boy DLive, as well. TBH.

He's just not worth having anymore, his 17M contract is a cap killer for next year (which is even more of a problem with hard caps), and I don't see minutes to give him. For anyone who thinks it's a plus to get off of Maxi's contract for BB, you just turned an 11M "problem" into a 17M problem. I'd rather have a "what-if" veteran who we aren't sure is dependable with Maxi - because it's such an area of need - 1000 times more than a what-if with BB.
Those are all valid concerns, but Bogi when healthy is a great combo guard off the bench. Further Bogi has a 17mil team option for next year so it’s a potential get out of jail free card and frees up some space. His contract number is a good one to pair with other guys to get a bigger name as well. Lots of avenues.
Of course it’s all moot, as the only package I’d be remotely interested in sending doesn’t work financially.
One trade I saw was from Bleacher Report if all places and its Maxi+Hardy+PHI 2nd for Kelly Olynyk. That one works and is much more intriguing. I think Dan also floated that idea a month ago.

Turner only makes 20M. That´s an easy match for Gafford/Kleber. Carlisle might value Kleber more than the rest of the league. Turner turns 29 in two months. Gafford 26. Problem is how much Turner wants in future money and whether his different playing style would suit the Mavs lob offense. Since Turner is expiring it might not even cost us much.
