He seemed genuinely happy. I don’t want Giannis or Booker and a smaller window. Take Cooper. Reduced salary. Much larger window. Let’s Go!!! It was such a rough season, but this finally feels like a new beginning. What a day! RE: 2025 draft thread: THE MAVS WIN THE 1ST PICK - BoredAssistant - 05-12-2025 The X Factor was Rolando Blackman! RE: 2025 draft thread: THE MAVS WIN THE 1ST PICK - Tyler - 05-12-2025 Ro needs a full time Mavs gig! Imagine how lucky his aura has to be to win this lottery with this franchise. RE: 2025 draft thread: THE MAVS WIN THE 1ST PICK - Razzmatazz_Hopskidillydoo - 05-12-2025 The worst possible outcome here is for Nico to trade down and get "a brother" instead. Like -- having 2 picks in the first round instead of one, and then both turn into duds. Flagg at least to me -- looks legit. Not better than Dirk or Luka, but somewhere around Paul George, hopefully he wouldn't get the same career arc like him. I'd be willing to have a few losing seasons while seeing Flagg develop into the Mavs franchise player than having a Giannis-AD championship trophy. It wouldn't feel like a Mavs championship to me anyway. I'd like an overhaul of the Mavs lineup too, start over. RE: 2025 draft thread: THE MAVS WIN THE 1ST PICK - KillerLeft - 05-12-2025 Are they gonna play him at PG (or point forward, if you prefer), like Luka? I think that's an option. Will that come together fast enough for this short window with Kyrie/Davis, however? Among the many awesome things about winning the Flagg lottery, our window just got considerably longer again. We will be good as he learns and also good after AD and Kyrie are gone. Having him run the offense is an interesting possibility. It will be fun to watch. Man, what a difference a day makes for the vibes. I thought he was more like a Pippen or Kawhi. Really good two way player. He'll certainly need time to develop and with the uncertainties around Kyrie and Day-To-Davis, rebooting seems like the better play if we are going to draft him. But also, now I want to maximize the SHORTER window WITH Kyrie/Davis, and I'm wondering what the best approach will be with this new player to do that. I mean...what if it DOESN'T require moving PJW, for example? What if this kid can literally step into Luka's shoes? That would make the team very scary, very quickly. I don't think he's AS GOOD in the pick and roll as Luka (obviously), but... This is what worries me. 0% they reboot. ZERO. So, I hope Harrison/Dumont aren't thinking of ways to use this pick for dumb purposes. |
