RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jazz May Like Ingram? Nets Want Okoro? - Chicagojk - 07-31-2024 (07-30-2024, 10:06 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: Evan Sidery (@esidery) I think Simons is an interesting name. To get him though, it is going to be expensive. Not sure many teams are going to offer unprotected 25 and 26 first round draft picks though (supposedly really strong drafts). Even with Simons limitations on defense, I think he is a great shooter and would play well off a legit star. Again, not sure of the market because his asking price will be aggressive. Due to his contract and the Mavs cap limitations there is no realistic way for the Mavs to get Simons without trading 1 of Kyrie/Klay/PJ With that in mind, is a Simons trade even worth it? Nevermind that Portland will probably want a 1st and probably OMax on top of that. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jazz May Like Ingram? I know some folks think getting somebody like Simons would make sense from the standpoint that he is young and could eventually take over Kyrie spot, but my preference for an eventual Kyrie replacement would be a 2 way wing as opposed to another offense first guard. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Blazers Goal is to Trade Grant and/or Simons Before Season - Ghost of Podkolzin - 07-31-2024 Simons? Why on Earth would we give up scarce resources for a resource where we're more than covered? Just trying to see where a pretty good player could wind up. The bad teams just can't give up an unprotected pick in the next two drafts. They just can't. It is fair for Portland to want a good pick or two imo. I am not sure where the pretty good teams would fit. Orlando feels like a real good option. I don't think they are still with their moves and all their bodies. Miami? Seems like a lateral move with Herro. I would like the fit in Toronto, but they can't give up a unprotected first and paid a lot of people recently. I think my favorite is the spurs. He would fit in really well there. Just not sure I would give up one of their best pick assets if I was the Spurs. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Blazers Goal is to Trade Grant and/or Simons Before Season - Ghost of Podkolzin - 07-31-2024 We are awash with guards on this team. Luka, Kyrie, Klay, Din, Hardy, Grimes, Exum, and AJ. Sure you can play Klay, Exum, and Grimes as SG/SF, but our next big piece to acquire needs to be out of the mold of an OMax upgrade. We need to eventually replace Klay with a SF/PF. DJJ proved that with Luka, Kyrie, PJ, and our bigs are best balanced with that profile of player. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jazz May Like Ingram? Just trying to see where a pretty good player could wind up. Orlando seems like a team with an obvious role and need. They also have enough assets to make it make sense. Say: Simons+Robert Williams III for Cole Anthony+WCJr+Gary Harris+3 2nds+1 FRP pick swap+1 FRP. They can even add Jett Howard instead of Harris (but are 400k off from a legal trade). ORL new team: Simons/Black/Joseph KCP/Suggs/ Franz/Da Silva/Howard Paolo/Isaac/Houstan Timelord/Wagner/Goga RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Blazers Goal is to Trade Grant and/or Simons Before Season - SleepingHero - 07-31-2024 Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) ESPN Sources: Free agent G Luke Kennard has agreed on a new one-year, $11 million contract to stay with the Memphis Grizzlies. Kennard’s a career 44 percent 3-point shooter and a key floor spacer for the Western contender. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jazz May Like Ingram? The Magic is a good pick. Anfernee Simons is also from Florida and went to school in Orlando. Don't know if the Magic will want RW3 though, another highly injury-prone player. Probably just stick with Cole Anthony, WCJ and picks/swaps. Then re-sign Okeke at the minimum, and move Isaac to full-time Center. I think Isaac could remain healthy if he's not asked to defend the perimeter so much. ORL new team: G: Suggs............. Black, Joseph G: Simons........... KCP, Harris F: Franz.............. Howard, Houstan F: Paolo.............. Da Silva, Okeke C: Isaac.............. Moritz, Goga I'd bump the Magic up to close favorites with the Celtics in the East, if they can pull off a trade like this for Anfernee Simons and have everyone stay healthy. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jarrett Allen Extends 3yrs/91mil - SleepingHero - 07-31-2024 Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen has agreed on a three-year, $91 million maximum extension that’ll now guarantee him $131 million over the next five years, his agent Derrick Powell tells ESPN. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jarrett Allen Extends 3yrs/91mil - HoosierDaddyKid - 07-31-2024 (07-31-2024, 03:34 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) He went from trade fodder to an extension. I heard he was in the doghouse because he refused to take injections for his bruised ribs and sat out the playoffs. I still think him and Mobley on that frontline is an ill fit. But they are a top 10 defense when both are healthy. RE: Trade & FA 2024-25: Jarrett Allen Extends 3yrs/91mil - Knutsen - 08-01-2024 Gordon Hayward is retiring. I find it hard to believe PHX didn't offer Hayward anything. I'm sure OKC would've had him back on a minimum. Given that there was no concrete rumors on Hayward you're probably right that he wasn't offered anything and he made the choice to retire. |
