RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Jym - 01-03-2026 The more my mind settles, the more I don't even care what we get for Davis I just don't want to be the team that extends him for $40+ million a year RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - KillerLeft - 01-03-2026 (01-03-2026, 09:14 PM)Jym Wrote: The more my mind settles, the more I don't even care what we get for Davis They won't be. That's what all the rumors have been about this whole time. He's on the trade market specifically because they have decided not to give him that contract. I'm not a bit worried about that. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Mavs2021 - 01-03-2026 (01-03-2026, 09:12 PM)mvossman Wrote: Agree with this. I don't want Trae coming back unless we can reroute him as part of the trade or we get the NOP pick. But he is more valuable to Atlanta now than he will be in the summer when he can't help the current team make a playoff run. The same goes for any of the other teams interested in him, and I am not sure the offseason is going to make it any easier for them. Golden State still has to give up Green or Butler for example. Mavs Young Risacher Kuminga Warriors 2026 1st Cavs 2026 1st Warriors Gafford Thompson Hawks AD Hield works without the Warriors giving up Butler or Green. Mavs and Warriors stay under the 2nd apron, but take a heavy tax hit. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Dirknows - 01-03-2026 Just appears to be too much smoke around AD to Atlanta for them to not come to a compromise. One neither teams fans will probably like. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - DanSchwartzgan - 01-03-2026 (01-03-2026, 09:24 PM)Mavs2021 Wrote: Mavs I like this. We could probably use someone like TJD to play center. I’d also seek to add a Kennard for Martin swap to the deal since Dallas is taking on Trae. One advantage to this for the front office is that the Luka deal is still incomplete. There is still some chance to get some return for Trae. Additionally, adding more players like Gafford and Thompson starts to muddy and direct “all we got for Luka was” talk that you would better be able to isolate in a deal where it is just expiring contracts and picks plus Risacher. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - BigDirk41 - 01-03-2026 If the Mavs go end up trading for Trae and I'm not saying they should, but does that mean they would move Kyrie? You absolutely can't play 2 undersized guards in the starting lineup. Moving him probably isn't an option. Mavs should insist on getting the rights to swap with Pels pick at very least in this scenario. Yet the Mavs should be interested in trading for him? Trae Young. Over paid small, no defense (wins championships) low percentage gunner. The Mavs want him, why? To trade? How about, not? Draft choices, OK. What the Hawks are offering? P.U. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - FireNicoHarrison - 01-04-2026 So... Everyone want street clothes? I told you guys. Keep calm, let him puts stats and the market will be on fire at the TDL. Yet the Mavs should be interested in trading for him? Trae Young. Over paid small, no defense (wins championships) low percentage gunner. So what? Coaches get things wrong all the time and balanced teams win championships. You can´t win one without offense either, otherwise we´d be in the top 10, not the bottom 10. Trae Young is actually a perfect (two year) fit for the developmental phase of our offensively challenged team that has literally two guards that should play more than 15 MPG in the NBA. If we get another superstar forward talent like Boozer or Dybantsa, we need a PG that can actually run an offense and throw those lobs to Gafford, Lively, Flagg, Risacher and X, not trying to drive with blinders like Williams or throw lobs into the stands like Hardy. You want to win and develop young players at the same time, but think Brandon Williams and Ryan Nembhard, who are just as tall and sh*t on defense as Young, will be sufficient to do that. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - meistermatze - 01-04-2026 Did anyone else notice that they changed the pregame video and removed AD? A sign of an incoming trade? Also: we have to trade AD ASAP, period. I understand the logic behind “not shipping him for a bag of beans” or “letting him build up his value,” but people making this argument ignore the fact that he is one serious injury away from being toast. I’d rather get out of this nightmare now and cut our losses. I do not want to risk him getting injured and being stuck with AD having zero trade value. Trade him while he’s still able to walk, thank you very much. A sign of an incoming trade? This isn't a trade they can mess up. There is no chance they trade him unless they get proper value. I share your worry about him getting injured again, as does every other Mavs fan, but it's the risk they have to take to get a strong return. A strong return is super important for the future of this franchise. I mean does everyone want him? The Warriors want him, but don't want to part with Green or Butler. The Bucks want him but have no reasonable way to get him. Toronto wants him but would have to send bad contracts. Atlanta currently seems like the only good match and its not surprising that is where all the smoke is coming from. Right now it seems like the trade would be structured around KP + Risacher + pick(s) and the haggling is on the picks. I have very little interest in Kuminga, but trading KP for him make some sense given he has a club option next season. I almost included this proposal in my initial post about Kuminga but didn’t want to distract from the conversation about Kuminga. I still don’t buy that the NOP is untouchable. It’s the price you pay for turning Young and Risacher into AD. The Hawks are a .500 team in an east which is wide open. I think they are desperate enough to do this. But there are at least 8/9 teams interested. Maybe more. Don't trust those fake rumors. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Chicagojk - 01-04-2026 Well I think we know who may be talking. This and the liked tweet of KP, Newell and Kennard trade. Mavs Film Room ?? (@MavsFilmRoom) Also from Stein: Rich Paul is believed to be “high” on Atlanta as a destination for Anthony Davis, should discussions between the Mavs and Hawks become serious. Paul also represents the Hawks’ Jalen Johnson. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - RoyTarpleysGhost - 01-04-2026 Marc Stein released a new substack an hour ago. I do not have a subscription to it and only posting what I'm seeing on Reddit. [Marc Stein]"currently no real traction in Anthony Davis trade talks"... "Atlanta’s willingness to take on Davis’ contract may hinge on whether it can move Trae Young in a separate deal...."Atlanta isn’t willing to include 2024 No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher in an in-season trade for Davis." Atlanta does not believe surrendering Zaccharie Risacher or the Pelicans pick would be worth it in an AD trade. |
