Cuban talks about this take foul as a major reason, we can´t win. Yes Mark the transition basketball and the rebounding, because you have NO LEGS.

Now watch what Cuban´s conclusion and reaction this summer will be in terms of the pick, trades, exception(s) and minimum contracts. You think he´ll go young.

That’s really a masterpiece of reloading during the season with pieces that fit their two superstars perfectly. Even the moves that didn’t completely pan out like Bamba and Beasley were really good.

Major developments in the Miami vs Milwaukee series. Tyler Herro left with a broken right hand, and Giannis fell on his back and has a lower back contusion. Both are out for the game. Herro may be out for the series. This has been a very physical game with Miami leading most of the game. And the Bucks have no answer for Jimmy Butler.

Kinda sickening how wide open the West is yet again. With any level of competent roster building, a team with Luka should have made at least one Finals over this stretch

lakers are a contender now imho. lakers should thank us for outbidding them in the kyrie trade, they would've otherwise missed the playoffs probably without a pick.

Everyone is talking about Reaves and Rui but AD posted a monster statline.

Minnesota looks hapless vs Denver. Nuggs are blowing them out. 81-56 late in the 3rd.

KAT with only 4 points...even Powell or Kleber could score that many in a playoff game. And Gobert is a team-worst -28!

I know it seems crazy...

But I'm coming around to the idea of a Gobert trade. It fits the idea of the Mavs buying low on stars. Gobert's value (if that cbs article is to be believed) is tanked beyond all measure. And this was before he punched his own teammate. It was surmised that MIN would have to pay a 1st to get off of Gobert's money. That's how bad it's gotten.

If so, the Mavs could probably swindle McDaniels in a potential deal.

Gobert+McDaniels for THJ+Bertans+Bullock.

Mavs save 5 mil this year (but eat Goberts remaining 120 mil). Wolves hit the reset with shooters, and a supposed defensive wing in Bullock. Wolves only payment is McDaniels vs. future picks.

If the Mavs were to make a deal like this, they basically solve their starting center AND defensive minded big wing that can rebound in 1 trade. Gobert for all his warts still does the stuff the Mavs need best. He's a fantastic rebounder. He's still a force defensively. He can still catch lobs (even if he has butterfingers). They still would have 2 firsts to go trading for the last wing to fill out the starting 5. (#10+27+Hardy for Siakam?).

Knowing Cuban though, he'd throw in the #10 pick in the original trade, thus severely hampering a potential big swing. This is a pie in the sky deal, but I am really coming around to a potential Gobert deal given the obvious fits.

If we can get Siakam and keep Irving, I think Gafford or Hartenstein (or both) is the right type of C to go after. Siakam can play the smallball 5 when needed.

Way too early reactions to each playoff team:

Nuggets - For real. Jokic > Embiid.

Bucks - Will be fine if Giannis is fine

Grizz - FRAUDS

Celtics - For real

Kings - Light the MF beam

76ers - FRAUDS that will be exposed round 2

Suns - FRAUDS

Cavs - Not serious contenders, but I like them

Clippers - Watch out if Paul George comes back

Knicks -  Heart JB. Probably going to 7 vs Cavs

Warriors - I'm rooting for the Kings, but don't have a problem with them. We all know there is a chance they catch fire.

Nets -  Heart Dorian

Lakers - Could win due to injuries and the fact that they are playing FRAUDS

Hawks - Not beating Boston

Wolves - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Heat - Might get out of the first round if Giannis' back is cooked. Could make conference finals since they get to play NYK or CLE in round 2.

RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA Fines Mavs 750K for tanking - ItsGoTime - 04-17-2023

As far as Gobert. I don’t think it would be a good idea to give up on Gobert this early. I mean, they made the playoffs with him, right? After what was given up for him, they have to give it another go after an offseason of work to improve the team overall. Just my thoughts though. Maybe TDL is the time to look into trading him if the season looks similar to this year.

I think they should trade KATnip and build around Edwards. I'm not a KAT hater, but playing twin towers in 2023 is moronic and they can get a lot more for KAT than they can for Gobert.

RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA Fines Mavs 750K for tanking - omahen - 04-17-2023

Gobert is a dinosaur that gets exposed every playoffs. Once teams go small, he is just an average wing with zero offensive game.

RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA Fines Mavs 750K for tanking - omahen - 04-17-2023

I really like first round this year. Looks a lot of series will be extremely competitive

Kawhi is still a robot, but I wonder if he can keep it up through whole playoffs. Clippers will need George back soon. But a very deep team. Even Westbrook was useful first game, despite his terrible shooting. But he made a lot of winning plays

Those are pretty decent observations, but I disagree with a couple of your FRAUD predictions unless you're basing it on just one game. Memphis has been the 2nd or 3rd seed all season. The loss of Adams and Clarke is HUGE for them. They're tough-minded,  cocky, and overconfident sometimes, but when they're healthy and clicking they are still one of the best teams in the league. Philly isn't a fraud either. They just happen to be in the same conference as Milwaukee and Boston.  Phoenix is good, but I don't think they can overcome the Clipper's depth and the fact they haven't been together long enough to learn how to play with KD because he's been in and out of the lineup with injuries. The Clippers are the worst matchup for them.

RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA Fines Mavs 750K for tanking - Chicagojk - 04-17-2023

Saw the fourth quarter of the Lakers game this morning.  Quite the performance.    I said a few months ago that Reaves sort of reminds me of Brunson.  Different player, but just a guy who will help you win you important games.  I wasn't expecting it to happen in his first playoff game.   Nice showing from Rui too.   Just shows you if you are good on the edges and have stars, you can build teams quickly.  Rui for a few second round picks and Reaves undrafted.   It just really depresses me the Mavs always give picks away and appear to don't really scout looking for hidden guys.  It is weird because two of the biggest successes have been second round picks....maybe three if you count Crowder (Obviously Jalen and I think Jaden will be deemed a big success too).

I would love to know what Luka is thinking now.  Seeing Jalen on Saturday and then the re-built Lakers yesterday, he needs to have some doubts.  Especially considering the Mavs prize free agent took about 10 games before they figured out he couldn't play.

I wasn't able to watch the games yesterday, but it looked like a good day for basketball...besides the injuries.

What was the package for the Clippers picking up Plumlee, Gordon, Bones and Russell?   A few second round picks right?  We will see if that works out, but these were the type of fringe moves I was hoping Dallas would make at the deadline.   Maybe not these same players.   I guess it would help if they didn't punt all their second round picks though.
