Worth a listen, imo. https://twitter.com/DallasHoopsCast/status/1330905115742638081?s=20 RE: TRADE: Curry to PHI | Richardson + #36 [Tyler Bey, 6'7", 7'1.25" WS] to DAL - sefant - 11-23-2020 (11-23-2020, 02:20 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: If you can get over the fact that this dude sounds like a 12 year old (that will take a minute), he has a pretty good grasp over the NBA game, Richardson, and how he might fit in Dallas. Saying DFS would be the 15th man on the Lakers or Clippers is a bit ... well ... Johnson starting over DFS interesting as well RE: TRADE: Curry to PHI | Richardson + #36 [Tyler Bey, 6'7", 7'1.25" WS] to DAL - KillerLeft - 11-23-2020 @"sefant" I only listened to the interview with the Philly guy about Richardson, so that's all I was talking about. If what you're listing above was alluded to in the rest of the podcast, then I'm glad I skipped it. Man I would love me a RoCo starter kit. That one video really highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of Bey. Had some great examples of him on defense, good and bad. Excited to see what he can do when he's asked to just focus on 1 thing surrounded by a bunch of good players. RE: TRADE: Curry to PHI | Richardson + #36 [Tyler Bey, 6'7", 7'1.25" WS] to DAL - FunkBoreland - 11-27-2020 I hope we'll sign T. Bey next year to a team contract instead of stashing him in the G-League. Pending whatever happens 2021 offseason, we got someone to replace; DFS, Kleber, James Johnson. Rather it be DFS, but his tied up till 2022. Kleber if his stats are better is definitely kept (yes his contract is till 2023) and James Johnson is the expiring contract that's more probable that he goes somewhere midseason or next season. Either way, its going to free up a roster spot for him. His got a year in G-League to gather up his offensive arsenal (slashing, corner 3's, positionally better as a wing). I know he play in Colorado mostly as a 4 and sometimes a stretch 5 but if Mavs can make him a true small forward, he'll be one of the best role players in the league. I don't think they are even sure if there is going to be a G-League right now. J Rich can do some playmaking, can shoot and most importantly can defend the best perimeter player. It cost Curry but the fact is Curry was not a starter and a liability in the playoffs because of his defensive limitations. I love Curry but you need to prioritize starters over 6th men. Hopefully Mavs can replace the shooting he provided off the bench. Curry is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league (maybe history on a smallish sample size?) so that will be a challenge but you have to shore up starters first. I expect J Rich to have a great year and likely be resigned in 2021. THJ put up an absolute career year from 3 last season, but Richardson has hit 37% from 3 for Miami. Everyone is all over THJ as a shooter right now, but he's had an outlier season after being bad the entirety of his career. I think the improvement had more to do with the system he played in Dallas than some huge natural improvement in his shooting ability (as evidenced by a few other Mavs putting up career shooting seasons from 3), which actually bodes pretty well for Josh potentially having a shooting season as good or close to what THJ just did.(11-23-2020, 01:25 PM)StepBackJay Wrote: J Rich is a slightly better passer and I think comparable shooter to THJ especially in this offense. |
