Who was the "player of the game" who elevated their game above normal to get the Mavs the win?

OT: Prayers (or whatever you do that's nice) for Kemba Walker

Kemba was taken off the floor on a stretcher tonight.  You hate to see that.

Tracey MacGrady on "The Jump" November 21, 2019

- Luka Doncic has become his favorite player to watch.  He "tunes in" when Luka is playing.
- Luka Doncic, with Steph out, is "the best point guard in the NBA."

  Rotation Spot: THJ or Broekhoff?
Posted by: fifteenth - 11-21-2019, 12:42 PM - Forum: Dallas Mavericks and the NBA - Replies (7)

The rotation is stabilizing.

With Rick's comment that Seth "won't lose his starting job" due to a minor, one game injury, our starters appear to be:

Luka
Seth
DFS
DP/Maxi (platoon)
KP

Some of the second unit seems to be set:

Brunson
Wright
DP/Maxi (platoon)

J.Jacks seems to have the 10th spot locked down and JJB and Bobi are the spot duty saviors...

But I think there is one rotation spot that could still be tweaked.

Who should be the 9th man in the rotation: THJ or Broekhoff?

[Massacre] Semi Serious Battle: Curry vs. Hardaway who starts.
Posted by: SportPsychMav - 11-21-2019, 11:20 AM - Forum: Dallas Mavericks and the NBA - Replies (36)

Curry is nice as a starter, but I think Hardaway fits better with the starters as his personality let's him adjust much better when paired with better players than him. He has a hard time taking a backseat and staying within himself when paired with the bench players.

Curry might perform better with the starters than with the bench, as the bench currently has a logjam of ballhandling guards.

Or let them start both.

Porzingis, THjr, Curry, Doncic, Finney-Smith

Let the muddy battle begin!! Angel

A Few Thoughts on Mavs 142, Warriors 94
Posted by: mavsluvr - 11-20-2019, 10:46 PM - Forum: Dallas Mavericks and the NBA - Replies (18)

Mavs Screw, Glue, and Tattoo the Warriors

The Golden State Supertanker docked in Dallas for this match. The Mavs were favored by 13.5, and a win was expected, but this was a massacre.

Absences. GSW were without all of their leading lights, including Klay Thompson (ACL), Steph Curry (hand), D'Angelo Russell (thumb), and Draymond Green (soreness). I barely recognized their squad, although I guess they did remind us that Willie Cauley-Stein and Alec Burks are still in the league. Steve Kerr put in an appearance on the bench. Seth Curry was under the weather and out for the Mavs.

Game Story. The Mavericks jumped out to an early lead, and continued to build throughout the game. The end-of-quarter scores were 44-16, 78-34, 104-64, and 142-94. The starters came out with 3:39 left in the third. The home team Mavs reached a game-high lead of 50 points before GSW made the last bucket of the game. Boo-ya!

Individual Performances. Luka had his seventh triple-double of the season, at 35-10-11, along with 3 steals. KP had his fourth straight double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. The starting lineup was Luka-THJ-DFS-KP-DP. Hardaway took advantage of his starter minutes (22) to put in a notable performance, earning the team's runner-up scoring status with 22 points on 6-7 shooting (including 4-4 threes) and 4-5 FTAs. Everyone on the active roster played except Barea, who evidently opted out of playing in garbage time, but drew laughter from Luka and the crowd when he faked entering the game in the fourth.

Records. The team and individual players set various niche-type records. Among others, Luka had a club record for points in a first half. Anyone interested can find these on Mavs media twitter, or Basketball Reference, or something of that sort.

Impressions. We're happy to take the W, but in truth, this wasn't much of a match. I didn't see any point in trying to parse this one closely, so I guess the default alternative is to relax and enjoy the victory!

Next. Cavs on Friday.

Question AUDIO stream?
Posted by: embellisher - 11-20-2019, 04:59 PM - Forum: Dallas Mavericks and the NBA - Replies (9)

I travel on business a lot and would love to be able to listen to the Mavs while on the road.

I have tried streaming the video and just listening to the audio, but it buffers constantly because of the huge amount of data being streamed.

Does anybody know a way to stream the audio from either a video stream or from a Mavs radio broadcast for free?

TuneIn claims they can for $9.99 a month but first that's a lot of money for two or three games a month and second I've read a lot of complaints online where people signed up for TuneIn and then found that their team didn't have anybody streaming the audio, even though TuneIn claimed they had streams for that team. Both NBA and NHL.

Thanks!
