The Pacers game really highlighted the lack of coaching this team has. The Pacers b-squad looked more polished than our starters. The ball movement, the moving without the ball, the hustle, the aggression… it was honestly embarrassing. I was always a Rick apologist, so maybe I’m biased, but he always was able to get more out of the talent he was given. Kidd on the other hand… He seems to be very hands off, creating an environment that star players like, but does little to intercede as he just “watches the game” and waits for the players to “grow up”. I think his approach may be ok for an assistant coach, a role he thrived in with the Lakers. A head coach needs to take more accountability for his team’s success and do everything they can to prepare the team to compete.
