Just a rental for the playoffs most likely. Orlando is doing a fire sale and they knew he wasn't going to re-sign this summer so they wanted to just get anything. Two second rounders is worth it though, even for a rental.

That's not accurate nor possible, as Teague's tiny salary could have never matched Fournier's big one.
From Boston's side
Fournier in - TPE used to match
Teague out for no one being matched - TPE received
Boston used the 28.5M Hayward TPE to absorb 17.15M Fournier's salary. They will have 11.35M TPE left over. As they sent out Teague with no salary coming back for him, they also will get a new TPE for ~1.6M.
From Orlando's side
Teague in - MSE used to match
Fournier out for no one being matched - TPE received
Orlando absorbed Teague with a minimum salary exception. By sending out Fournier with no salary coming back to match, they will get a new TPE of 17.15M for Fournier's salary.
