So, with most of the dust settled in FA, what is your 2020-2021  NBA power ranking?

Whether it is for all 30 teams or by conference, and regular season or playoffs?

I am really interested seeing everyone's view on this
West (1-4 are a tier above the rest, 5-8 will be very close, details like injuries might shift a lot, I think rest are at least a tier below):
1. LAL
2. LAC
3. Por
4. Den
5. GSW
6. Uta
7. Dal
8. Pho
9. Hou
10. SA
11. Mem
12. NO
13. Min
14. Sac
15. OKC

East (top 7 very close to each other, Orlando, Atlanta and Chicago will fight it for playoffs, the rest is trash)
1. Mil
2. Mia
3. Phi
4. Bro
5. Ind
6. Bos
7. Tor
8. Orl
9. Atl
10. Chi
11. Was
12. Cha
13. Cle
14. Det
15. NY
Mine:

West:

1-Denver
2-Lakers
3-Clippers
4-Mavs
5-Suns
6-Portland
7-Rockets
8-Utah
9-GSW
10-Pelicans
11-Spurs
12-Timberwolves
13-Grizzlies
14-Kings
15-OKC
Denver switch to 3rd when it comes to playoffs.

East:
1-Bucks
2-Nets
3-Sixers
4-Celtics
5-Heat
6-Raptors
7-Pacers
8-Hawks
9-Wizards
10-Bulls
11-Magic
12-Hornets
13-Knicks
14-Pistons
15-Cavs

Nets is top of my list in playoffs potential, as long as KD is anything close to what he was.
I believe East's Giannis chasers will take couple of step backs this year.
West

Lakers (until proven otherwise)
Clippers (still more talent than any team outside of LA, will have something to prove)
Nuggets (lost Grant but with MPJ and Bol improving he won´t be missed)
Blazers (made the playoffs with Nurkic and Collins missing most of the season, finally added the needed 3&D wing RoCo)
Jazz (same as last year)
Suns (CP3 effect and young improving core, Ayton not missing 25 games because of a drug suspension)
Mavs (would be in front of the Jazz with a healthy KP)
Rockets (move to the botton without Harden, move up if both RW and Harden stay)

Warriors (no Klay, a lot of pressure on Steph, not sure if Wiseman will help from day one on)
Timberwolves (defense will be the downfall again, Rubio alone won´t solve it)
Spurs (even Pop won´t be able to win a lot with Aldridge, DeRozan and some unproven guys)
Pelicans (lack experience, lost their best player)
Grizzlies (lack experience as well)
Kings (gone Kangz...nuff said)
OKC (don´t even know who is on the roster right now but they probably will end up with all top 5 picks in a future draft)

East

Bucks (one last attempt to convince Giannis, added Holiday, screwed up the rest)
Heat (will only get better, brought back everyone except for Crowder and replaced him with Bradley and Harkless)
Celtics (two-way wing talent wins games and the Celtics still have the most in the entire league)
76ers (Morey didn´t wait and finally surrounded Embiid and Simmons with more shooting)
Raptors (lost older key guys like Gasol and Ibaka, Lowry is aging as well, really lack front court depth)
Nets (locker room issues are basically guaranteed, KD probably won´t be the same after the injury, Nash will need to deal with all of it)
Pacers (same as always, good but not enough to make a deep playoff run)
Hawks (overpaid but still made some solid additions, offense should be good, defense will be just as bad as it was)

Magic (no big moves, one of the few teams that really has no where to go, not bad enough to tank in a weak east but not good enough to win either)
Bulls (young guys improving)
Wizards (Wall/Beal chemistry, will they finally trade Beal and start ther rebuild)
Hornets (Ball hype and Hayward contract, I think Ball will be a bust, expect an all time bad defense)
Pistons (will probably start 5 centers)
Knicks (have even more PFs and Tom Thibodeaus outdated coaching schemes)
Cavaliers (will outtank the rest)

Overall the west is a lot harder to predict. I could flip the top 10 and wouldn´t be suprised if some of the younger teams (Grizzlies, Pelicans) makes the playoffs.
There is a clear drop off in talent after the top 8 in the east. The middle of the pack seems to be a lot better in the west.

Mavs 10th overall- 5th in the west.

1 Lakers
2 Bucks
3 Clippers
4 Heat
5 Nets
6 Celtics
7 Raptors
8 Jazz
9 Nuggets
10 Mavs
11 Sixers
12 Blazers
13 Suns
14 Warriors
15 Rockets
16 Grizzlies

I think they are a little top heavy on the east.  I would rank the Nuggets higher than the Jazz.  Mavs are okay at 10 to start, I expect them to climb the rankings as KP comes back and the new guys learn the system.

Rockets lose Harden and they are done. (I am still waiting for the implosion, a little disappointed it hasn't happened yet)
btw, some of the most important questions deciding this ranking during the season will be:

1-Health: All teams are almost one injury away from destroying their season. Even the best team in the league is AD/Lebron big injury away from a good chance of not reaching playoffs (West is brutal)

2-Coaching: Is there is a new Steve Kerr or Nick Nurse that will surprise us?  If Silas or Nash that good then their teams could be really good.

3-The KD form: Is he going to be one of those rare success story from the brutal achilles  injury? How good is KD could be determinant of the East.

4-The Harden sage: Harden to Nets, Rockets are over and Brooklyn is easily best team in East.

5-Who takes the leap?
Which young team will finally figure it out? Denver to finally take final step in the Jokic-Jamal era? Mavs with healthier KP and Luka and young team with a lot of previous chemistry?  Doc & Morey finally figure out how to unleash Simmons & Embiid? I could right something like that about another half dozen of teams
The East doesn’t matter. The West is stacked. Phoenix finishes as the number 1 seed. The Lakers coast through the regular season and finish 3rd or 4th but roll through the playoffs. Mavs finish 2nd. Win a playoff series. Fall to Lakers in 2nd round.

That moment when ESPN seems to have more faith in Mavs than most of our fans

I'd argue that the TOP level in the East is even deeper than the top level of the West.

In the West, I think it's pretty much the two LA teams and everyone else is at least one level below.

Brooklyn, Boston, Miami and Milwaukee might not be a threat to beat either of those LA teams, but they sure are a threat to each other.

More than I do, FOR SURE. I hope they're right!

That guy Michael Pina hit us with a drive by the other day, to end his podcast. He just casually mentioned that he didn't think the Mavericks would make the playoffs. I almost drove my car off the road I was so shocked.

I think one of the main questions regarding this ranking (other than health and coaching) is who takes the next step.

You look at the NBA, there is usually a fight between the old guards and the new ones at some point. You know, like MJ taking over the Pistons eventually, or more recent how LBJ/Wade/Bosh generation finally took over from Kobe,Dirk,TD, KG in the early years of the 2010's decade
Then the Curry, Harden, KD fighting over the Lebron of the league.

Now, those KD,Curry etc along Lebron himself are the old guard, with one small issue.
There is only one player born in the 1990's that lead his team to the title, and that was Kawhi. Kyrie and AD were great Robben to Lebron.
Kawhi is 30 during next NBA finals
Now, it seems that players who are even younger are the ones trying to take over; the Jokic,Luka, Tatum, Mitchel and the most obvious one is Giannis.

You might be right about Lakers & Clippers, but Denver might be end up winning the West or Mavs/Utah making a conference finals.
People underrates the importance of organic growth within teams tbh

Very true.

Count me among those totally and completely skeptical about Utah, however. They simply don't have enough in my view.
Pelicans were the most overrated team heading into the season last year and I see the Suns have taken that title for this year XD

Find a CP3 lead team that missed the playoffs. Everyone thought the Thunder would tank last year but they finished in front of the Mavs and had the best clutch stats in the entire NBA.

They will be in the playoff mix but not a lock
Suns are making the playoffs - assuming relative health.  That is a team that is solidly built.  I like them.  I wasn't overwhelmed by their draft pick - seemed redundant next to ayton with better options available.  But CP3/Booker/Ayton with a stable of solid 3D wings?  That is a solid team!
West

1) Denver:  Not my pick for the NBA Finals, but think they finish with the best record in the West.
2) LA Lakers: Can AD & Bron stay healthy after a quick turnaround?  If so they are the favorites.
3) Dallas: If KP plays 80% of the games, I see enough growth to put the Mavs here.  If not I think it's 6 or 7.
4) Golden State: Assuming Curry stays healthy of course.
5) Phoenix:  Great young talent with Booker & Ayton with CP3 thrown into the mix?  I like.
6) LA Clippers: Talented but dysfunctional.  I see a rematch….and the Clippers go down.
7) Portland:  A healthy Nurkic & the addition of Covington, could be a sleeper team.
8) Utah:  I like Mitchell.  The rest is pretty meh.
9) Memphis: Better than expected last season.  Can they take the next step?
10) Houston: Harden won't finish the season in Houston.
11) New Orleans: Will Zion live up to the hype?
12) Minnesota: Nope.
13) San Antonio:  Time to rebuild Pops.
14) Sacramento: This is where you end up when you pass on Luka.
15) OKC: They may not win 10 games.

East
1) Milwaukee:  Best record in the East and another 2nd round exit.
2) Boston: Tatum would look nice in a Mavs uni.
3) Philly: Maybe this year?
4) Miami: Bye bye Bucks.
5) Brooklyn: The LA Clippers of the East
6) Indiana: The Utah Jazz of the East.
7) Toronto: Kawhi should have stayed in Canada.
8) Atlanta: Should be a fun team to watch.
9) Washington: Westbrook/Beal works better than Westbrook/Harden.
10) Chicago: Arrow up.
11) Orlando: Meh.
12) Charlotte: It's getting ugly.
13) Detroit: Killian Hayes ROY.
14) Cleveland: It's getting really ugly.
15) NY Knicks: LMAO

Why did that post black on black?

You have GSW as a top 4 team this year with no Klay Thompson? Listen I love Steph as much as everyone, and think that he alone can make them a playoff contender, but top 4 in the West is a different story. Wiseman would have to be the next star in the league and Draymond would need a flashback to 2015 for that to happen.

I have GSW on the fringes right now. Anywhere from 6th-9th.

1. Lakers (I mean defending champs get respect. Number 1 is theirs until they show they can't have it).
2. Denver (Denver is so deep and have proved us all wrong time and again)
3. Clippers (Kawhi+PG alone puts them here)
4. Dallas (If KP comes back strong Mavs could make a serious jump.)
5. Portland (could go anywhere from 3-7 honestly)
6. Phoenix (I can't see a CP3 led team with another potential All-NBA guy falling lower than this)
7. Utah (Can Gobert and Mitchell put their differences aside? I they can go anywhere from 4-8 this year for me)
8. Warriors (Hard to count out a healthy Curry. If he's available then the Warriors are fringe playoff contenders. If he's injured, I can see the Warriors bottoming out).
9. Houston (If Harden stays, Houston is in the playoffs. If not then they can fall as low as 12th).
10. Minnesota (Kat, DLO, Rubio, and Edwards is enough talent for them to be here. But the wonky fit amongst them and lack of D means I see them as playoff hopefuls)
11. Pelicans (Lost Jrue Holiday and instead got Steven Adams. Zion alone can't lead them to the postseason. If Houston tanks, then I can see them making the play-in)
12. Memphis (Honestly I can see MEM taking a big step and gunning for the playoffs. But it all depends on Jackson jr. and Morant's development.)
13. San Antonio (Odd putting SAS this low. Hard to count Pop and co out but with all signs of them rebuilding, Derozan and Aldridge are probably getting shipped out)
14. Sacramento. (As MMG put it, not picking Luka puts you here. Also just letting Bogi go for free?? They deserve to be here).
15. OKC (They made a bunch of moves to tank. They look like they want to take. I don't see them not tanking. So bottom of the list they go)

For the West, I can see anywhere from 8-12 being shuffled about. Warriors and Houston depend on health and trade, and they can easily miss the playoffs. MIN, Pels, MEM are all on the outside looking in though and need to make the big jump.

East
1. MIL (Giannis, Jrue, and Middleton means they are one scary regular season team. Hard to see them lose 20 games this year. Remains to be seen in the postseason).
2. 76ers (Now that Morey's in charge and he's actually put shooters around Ben/Embiid, I think Philly is scary. They could even trade for Harden and still be this high)
3. Boston (Stevens is a great coach. Tatum is a superstar. Though Kemba is injured, and Hayward is gone, I can't see them falling out of top 3 barring injuries).
4. Heat (This team is sneaky strong. I can see them going as high as 2, but not lower than 4 barring injuries).
5. Brooklyn (KD+Kyrie are nutcases. But they are talented as hell. if KD returns to 95% of what he was Brooklyn is a strong team).
6. Wizards (Westbrook+Beal are strong enough to duo to carry the Wizards. I can see angry Westbrook trying his hardest to destroy everyone)
7. Pacers (Sabonis is back, Turner is still strong, and if Oladipo returns to his old self this team is really scary)
8. Toronto (FVV is back, but Ibaka and Gasol are gone. Lets see how good Pascal really is. I don't think they miss the playoffs, but they've certainly dropped)
9. Orlando (Vuc+Gordon are talented enough to bring them right at the bottom of the playoff bracket, but without Issac I think Orlando misses out).
10. Atlanta (They've made a lot of additions with zero time for those additions to practice. I think ATL can make the playoffs but I have to see it to believe it.)
11 Detroit (DET decided Hayes+all the centers is how they make it back to the postseason. Funnily enough I think if Griffin is healthy, they have a shot)
12. Chicago (Lavine is talented. Markkanen is talented, WCJr is talented. Coby White is talented. But they aren't a playoff team just yet. Future is bright in CHI-town)
13. Charlotte (Ball's entertaining circus show is all CHA has got going for them. Hope they're excited to see Hayward put up 18/5/6 everynight to 20 wins)
14. Cleveland (When they trade Love and Drummond, I wonder who wins the tankathon between them and New York)
15. Knickerbockers (They made some really smart moves this offseason. Winning moves? No. But smart moves. Which is a first for NYK in a long time)

Mavs 10th overall- 5th in the west.

That was accurate.
Looking at this thread,  I think Mavs has done well within expectations.
The big surprise was that teams like Suns and Jazz has took such huge leap, and LALA getting destroyed by injuries
