Locker room signing. Not really sure what to think. If they cannot find someone else he is as good as anybody that spends the entire season on the bench.
Would have prefered some kind of reclamation project. Giving guys like MKG or Roberson an opportunity to fix their shot with a new coach.
Angry FFS
Nothing wrong with having a vet pg on the bench behind Luka and Brunson. JJB is probably the best option for that.

Yeah, I get why this irks people in a Sam Presti-like "make every opportunity count" kind of way, but as soon as Donnie said the two-way contracts were basically real roster spots this year, any anger I could've mustered over this dissipated.

He actually might play well on the few occasions they need him, too.

Yep. I would rather have a younger guy there, but Barea isn't going to whine about minutes, and has proven that he won't wilt in the closing minutes.
Wonder if Lee returns as well. He was just as highly regarded in the locker room but obviously does not have JJBs Mavs history. One locker room signing should be enough. Heat for example did the same. They resigned Haslem.

Yes, I've been wondering the same, ever since they didn't use the expiring contract at the deadline.

I'm sure some will hate that, too, but for the record, I thought he did some decent things on the court when he got the opportunity to play last year. As a deep bench defender who can catch and shoot, I think you could do way worse.

Lee was solid in his minutes and a valuable veteran but you can't have both he and JJB on the roster in it's current state.

I don't think he will. I think Mavs will want one more big.
Maybe they meant "player" in a different sense???
The only reason that I'd want JJ back is to mentor Terry. That's the exact type of guy he needs telling him what's up.

I think Terry has incredible offensive upside that JJ never had. He's got the quickness of a guard like JJ but he's way more lethal as a shooter. He has the potential to be JJ on steroids which I think its like a 15ppg guy.
