I wouldn't mind the Dinwiddie trade now. Hope I'm wrong.

I mean ... surprisingly, there were better picks like Bey/Achiuwa/Hampton, but he is an AWESOME prospect. Hope we end up keeping him.

It's a good pick. Green is a legit 3/D prospect, young, some versatility, not sure what else you could ask for. Hope for the best; I think he will find minutes early but you never know with Carlisle.

I think he could end up being better than SBey.....
But the upside of Hampton and Achiuwa I REALLY like.
Also, Green was NOT a good defender according to Synergy....I don't get all the love for his defense.

Couple of initial thoughts:
1) The Mavs interviewed SBey, and I believe they worked him out. So, it's very possible that they just didn't like the kid as much as we did.
2) If you buy @"Kammrath"'s idea that their international scouting infrastructure put them in the best position to know about Hayes, then the same is probably true of Green, who is foreign. I know he went to school here, but maybe they've been on him for a while.
Not a huge fan, but I also don't hate it.

I think SBey is a VERY limited athlete. I am perfectly fine they passed on him.
I will watch the careers of Achiuwa and Hampton closely though, because I would have taken them.

Seeing this - NBA Comparison: Kelly Oubre. This board must be thrilled!

Better become an All-NBA defender and learn to hits 3s at 40%, or he’ll be the board target as long as he’s a Mav

I don't know anything about these drafted players but I take it Josh Green is an athletic 3D type so I like that.

Pick: 18 | Team: Mavericks | Player: Josh Green | 6-6 wing | 19 years old, freshman | Arizona
Vecenie’s scouting report: Green is a monster defender on the ball due to his athleticism and lateral quickness. He’s tenacious and switchable due to his 6-foot-6 frame and 6-10 wingspan. I love him on that end. Offensively, he can pass it and make decisions, but he’s not a ballhandler. It’ll all come down to where the jumper settles in. That remains unclear. If he’s a 36 percent shooter like he was this season, he’ll be a starter.
Ranking: No. 22
Hollinger’s team fit: Green feels like a bit of a reach here, a theoretical 3-and-D guy that hasn’t shown nearly enough of the “3” and has been inconsistent on the “D.” He has good size and quickness for a wing but needs to refine his dribble game and finishing. I thought there were better fits available here.
I would have picked…
Vecenie: Saddiq Bey| Hollinger: Saddiq Bey
