Dante Exum won Dallas this game but not because of the shot he made. He got three consecutive stops on Fox in isolation, and that’s what won the game for the Mavericks

The Mavericks own the tie breaker over Pelicans, Suns and Kings.

2-2 season series, Mavs currently have better division record

WATCH THIS ASAP!!! *Luka love at the end!!!
Only 3 people in double figures tonight. It's very difficult to win like that. Gafford and Lively--our twin towers--played well. Lively maybe just a bit better. Maxi and Exum with some good defense, along with some timely baskets.

Luka had a physically rough night...and got to play Robin to Kyrie's Batman (Luka's own words). I'm torn between Luka and Kyrie, but not too much.

I'll give my Dirkie to Kyrie.
Kidd said that Luka is fine after the win despite the limping and grimacing. He was enjoying the win in the locker room and looked fine.

It’s conference record that matters but we have that by a little bit. Sacramento has the 4th toughest remaining schedule and Phoenix does too.

Mavs two up in the loss column on play-in. That was an absolutely MONSTER win in Sacramento.

They're one game back of Pels, and they have a chance to win tiebreaker over Pels with a win over Houston when they play.

Five seed is very doable for Dallas now.

Jason Kidd was great tonight.

• Won his review
• Called timely timeout to get Mavs situated
• ATO were executed
• Made adjustments
• Didn’t play THJ in the 4th after poor shooting night
• Played Gafford and Lively II over Maxi in the 4th, both held their own
Hold on the Maxi bashing. He was +8 with 6 points on 2 FGAs.

Strategies that no longer work vs. the Mavs:

1. Make fat Luka work on both ends so you can tire him out.
2. Foul the shit outta everybody cause the refs won’t give em THAT many FTs.
3. Double Luka and deny Kyrie, forcing the other 3 to make a play/shot.

Kings tried all 3 tonight.

Where the holy hell was Party on a night where THJ went 1-7?

Kidd had a playoff rotation tonight and leaned on Kyrie and Luka to take them home.

Both basically at 40 minutes.

Exum took the remaining 3rd guard minutes.

Does that mean there wasn't ANY chance to play Hardy? No of course not. But I think Kidd chose the safe route and kept his rotation tight vs. hoping Hardy would give him something.

Definitely feels like Hardy is going to either be traded for someone to shore up the SF position this summer OR be the new 6th man. No in between.
Mavs held Sabonis and Fox to a combined 16 points on 6/21 shooting in the 2nd half.

In the first half they were a combined 9/17 for 20 points.

HUGE difference.
