the Knicks have 8 players active

Mavs have Luka and kyrie.

Lively and Exum are out
Is Brunson playing?

In any case, Mavs should close this road trip with a win. They have to win games like this to rise in standings.
Brunson is not playing.

On the paper Mavs are much better team. But lets hope they don't take it too easy, as often happened in the past. Knicks playing without a PG and with only one real center. Luka is usually feasting on guys like Hartenstein (I expect Mavs to attack him in PnR)
@townbrad
Unconfirmed, but heard a rumbling that Dinwiddie plans to attend tonight's game, which, if true, is . . . interesting
I think I would prefer Dinwiddie over Hardaway. But Hardaway is here and he has been solid this year. Tough to see a clear role for him. Without Hardaway, I think it could work really well.
Chris Haynes in pregame just told the TNT crew that NY and Dallas won the trade deadline.
Off day in New York City. Hungover Luka game upcoming

THJ could take over Pinson's old role of hype man Big Grin
Sorry Killer..lol. I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, Barkley was effusive in his praise for Dallas’s trade deadline day. So, that pretty much guarantees that both deals are trash.
Mavs have Gafford and Lively but healthy Maxi might be a better defender than both.
Not trading Green was a great decision.
I'm also happy Green didn't get traded. Him and Kai seem to have a bit of chemistry.

To me, this isn't a negative pov. The more players that can add value when used, the better.

....but maybe put him in trade rumours every year. Seems to motivate him.

Also that pass by Luka came with some pointer sisters: I'm so excited, and I just can′t hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it. Big Grin

I don’t want to put words into dirkfan’s mouth, but I think the worry is about whether or not Kidd will be able to identify when to use which value guy.

It just seems like they are determined to play a center for 48 minutes per game when many of us just don’t believe that is the way to go in the modern game. Will the presence of two high-priced centers cause them to be too entrenched in that goal to adjust?

other than that, your point is extremely valid, of course

Kidd is on the clock now. There is definitely enough talent and balance to compete with. Plus there won´t be many changes to the core now. The next big change would be the head coach imho.

He's right.
The fact that Luka just said they have guys out tells you Williams, Curry and Holems don´t even register with him as Mavs rotational players. We kept all our key and all our young players. We have completely re-vamped the age structure of the team in a league that is trending young. Outside of Powell/Kleber/Morris/Irving/THJ, Exum is 28 and then everybody else is in Luka´s age range.
Not sure why, but Luka literally just stopped playing defense for like two positions in a row and it wasn’t pretty.

Also, did Green just injure himself?
