I always have found doncic pretty good on pick and and roll(even with powell),y kidd doesn't put more emphasis on this type of play .
It is a really good alternative to the usual iso schemes.And i wonder if it doesnt help free some shooters (seth curry).
A few questions:
1. You sure you don't see a good bit of pnr in the Mavs offense?
2. Why all the strange spacing between words?

In defense of CDW, he is correct in that the Mavs don't play nearly as much PNR as they should. I want them to try more Kyrie with Luka PNR, tbqh. Luka's hero is Lebron, after all.

This thread was directed at me and my critique of the pnr...my frustration with the Mavs being able to draft, find or acquire players that fit to the system.
I dont want to be like the Texas Rangers with Jon Daniels...always waiting until the next offseason for a player to hopefully acquire that is becoming a free agent.
Get bball players in here...not niche guys. Trade the bball players that dont fit your system when you have the ability to do so and that player wants to come here.
Acquiring low skilled players that fit your system is not the route, imo. Get bball players. Guys that check all the fundamentals first. If the pnr is so hard to find players for...adjust your offense a bit.
Mavs should have been drafting non-stop around luka's ideal system instead of emptying the war chest to trying to put those guys around him. Now...Luka is seasoned and wants a seasoned Center. Maybe Lively has suppressed Luka's demand for a good center a bit. Now we are at a point with Luka where drafting is almost not possible...you have to trade for these guys and they are expensive. Luka doesnt want to wait 3 years.
My uneducated critique is to run a hybrid system that allows non-pnr players to succeed in your preferred PNR system...if that makes sense. Assuming the non-pnr players you acquire raise your teams talent level...providing you the ability to make trades with those non-pnr players in the future.
I just dont see how acquiring niche players, then not being able to trade them for value because of their lack of fundamentals makes sense.

Because I made a post right before this thread came up a day or two ago about Luka and the coaching needing to adjust if acquiring pnr players i so hard.
Note the same username made a thread about "New Coach" at the same time.
