Mike Miles is staying In DFW!

The TCU product has agreed to a two-way contract with the Mavs after going undrafted tonight ?
New scouting report up on TCU guard Mike Miles, the youngest upperclassman in the country. Miles is the second upperclassman TCU guard I've gone all-in on in the last 4 years. Buy stock now and see why (with 10+ videos!)

Looks really promising actually,  I am impressed.
I probably should have included him in my UDFA targets.  I made some posts about him during the season.  I thought the Mavs would prioritize more size with their 2 way spot.

I believe he has a negative wing span and is short, but he has a lot of dog in him.  Even though he played 3 years in college, he is still really young for a junior.  I would not be surprised at all if he carved out an NBA career.   I am thrilled Mavs jumped on someone quick.    Especially now that there are 3 two way spots.

I would gather Wright needs to make the team to stick around.  I would put decent odds that he gets one of the last spots on a minimum, but there are a lot of guys who would take that spot.    So we will see.  I thought Wright did some solid things and he also has some dog in him.  So a back of the bench emergency point could be fine for him.
This is from last year when Miles pulled out of the draft, but good highlights albeit a year old

Wright played ok at times, but I dont see a need to have him on the roster. He's pretty limited at what he can do with his size and ability.

I think Mike Miles can do what Wright does from the 2 way spot, and he's 4 years younger.

I'd like to see more of a veteran ball handler for that emergency ballhandler if we're going to use one of the 15 on that.
After reading and watching some highlights of Miles, one thing that is pretty apparent is he is a good finisher at the rim. Despite being small with a neutral wingspan. In that way, he has some similarities to JJB. Seems like a good gamble to sign him to a two way. He was productive for 3 years in college and is still 20 years old.

Obviously Mike is younger but is Jelly anything to get excited about or just another body for the summer league

As a TCU fan that watched him for 3 years, I am pumped he’s a Mav now.

He is a strong and creative finisher around the basket.  His biggest weapon as a finisher is just how strong he is.  The size/length will be an issue for him and he will have to continue to expand his finishing arsenal and floaters.

I know his 2022-23 injury has been mentioned in some write ups and comments.  The bigger ding was a wrist injury he consistently tried to play through in 2021-22.  If you check his shooting numbers, you will see just what an impact that had on his 2021-22 season.

He is an outstanding pick up as a two-way and exactly the type of guy that’s worth taking a couple of years to attempt to develop into a usable NBA piece.  I wouldn’t bet against a guy as tough and hungry as Mike.
Just for the name alone Jelly sounds like a star.
