Most organizations should model themselves after Toronto.  Not afraid to go all in for a big move when it is right but when it is not they are constantly adding good players and them develop them.  They typically have a type.  Around 6’9, athletic and hungry.

Looking back the Lowry trade brought them Precious, Thad Young and Koloko (they gave up a first and moved back into the second in The Thad Young trade).  That trade already looks great for them.

They have him under contract. They don't owe it to the league to get something done that caters to the preferences or timelines of other teams. If I was BKN, I would take my time to get it right, however long that may be.

I suspect that any team in the running will not close the door if it takes longer. They will still be right there, as long as it takes.

It just doesn't make sense to me for the Nets to blow things up right now. Best course of action for all parties (KD, Kyrie, BKN) is to come together for "The Last Chance". Kyrie can rehab his value. KD gets 1 more chance with a competitive roster, and BRK can stave off rebuilding for another year.

Besides that situation with Kobe like more than a decade ago (when he supposedly almost ended up in Dallas) can you think of a single situation like this one with a guy on Durant's level that ended with everyone admitting they were a little in the wrong and then trying to make it work again?

He's getting traded, and to one of his preferred destinations. I'd bet a ton of money on it. Harden showed everyone how easy it is (two years in a row) to make it happen.

I think @"SleepingHero" is has the right idea but you are right about the outcome.  What I'm most curious about is KD & Kyrie's relationship.  I've heard it reported both ways in that they'd love to play with each other again and that KD wants nothing to do with him.  If the latter is true, I don't see the already highly unlikely "last chance" having any hope of coming true.  That just one too many servings of humble pie for all parties to choke down.

That´s good stuff for a Vegas type over/under bet. How many of them will be on the floor in game one of the season?
