I hope this silences the "Cuban is the real GM" crowd.

Cuban is ALWAYS going to have input, but in Nico's tenure things are CLEARLY different.
Yeah...
Someone had to remind Mark that there was a GM change in Houston...

Nico is a shark coming out of the depths. Never saw Wood coming... though several saw the others leaving. KUDOS!

I am not sure if he will he even make the Rockets roster. Wouldn´t be suprised if they waive all of them. If he plays for them he finishes the Texas Grand Tour.
Playing for the Spurs, Mavs and Rockets.
Quick trivia check. Only player I found is Chucky Brown. Who only played one game for the Mavs. 123 for the Rockets. 30 for the Spurs.
Ok, this is an absolute steal! I also have my doubts that Wood is exactly what the team needs (if he’s our starting C), but there is no denying this trade is a major upgrade. Also love reading that Sweeney was a part of his growth (at the very least was a first hand witness to it).
Great move. I'm shocked they got him for that little. Obviously there are some defensive concerns, but it's not like Powell was killing it in that regard. Wood should help a ton on the defensive boards too.
Wood is a bit of a headache, hopefully his attitude improves going to a better team. Seeing this package shows how much his trade value has fallen.

No denying it's a talent upgrade. Very offensively skilled and decent on the glass too. We probably still want to find a more defensive minded big somewhere though now we have open roster spots to do so
Something for nothing is huge! 5 out all the time, baby!!!
Great trade...not only for the player but you're getting rid of 4 roster spots who would not have been in the rotation so it frees up some roster spaces. They can get some vet minimum signings who can actually contribute more

It's a big year for him. First opportunity on a winning team with a new contract looming. Let's hope he approaches it the right way.

interesting entanglement with Porzingis early in clip, looks like Woods can hit the "3"
What's the catch?
I was never terribly interested in Wood but when you get a 27-year old starter for practically free?

I wasn't aware of the Sweeney connection but the fact that Kidd's number 1 assistant/defensive guru knows the guy and apparently was pro-deal also puts a lot of my worries on hold. Here's hoping Kidd can do the same thing for Wood in a contract year that he did for Brunson.
