VintagePeja's predictions.
Tough to choose between DFS, Bullock, and Luka.

Luka had a rough start, but started to be playoff Luka from the 2nd quarter on. His 3rd quarter was incredible and exactly what the team needed. He had a sequence that was a microcosm of the game. He blocked a 3 off a great close out, then hit back to back step back threes. Absolutely cold blooded.

Both DFS and Bullock played some INCREDIBLE defense. Just amazing stuff. They missed some shots, but more than made up for it with hustle and effort.

Definitely have to think about this one.
I voted Bullock.  I'd love to split the vote between the enforces but Bullock has been lowkey great this entire playoffs.
Held a playoff team to 77 points in a series-swinging game 5. Incredible story for the fellas who couldn’t defend just one season ago.

You voted for Bullock? I'll split the vote with you and vote godking.
Bullock deserves more love but Luka was undeniable tonight; he also had many great defensive possessions, much better than last game.
Luka wasn't his best in the first half but showed us some 3rd quarter magic.  Team D probably was the biggest factor.

Now let's go find Whiteside and the parking lot and finish the fight.

I’d really like to give a BullockDFS vote because those guys have been true stalwarts in many ways the unsung keys to the series so far.  But Luka’s rebounding has been a a real difference maker.  The Mavs aren’t getting blown off the glass anymore.
Well...that was a pretty good game.  Entertaining...and the best thing is--we won!  Actually we won in great fashion.  Different sport but I always thought it was best, when you have somebody down, to put your foot on their throat, destroy them.  That way, when you play them again it will be in the back of their mind that they have no chance.  Anyway...on to my Dirkie choice.

DFS, Bullock, and even Powell played good...and I'm not talking about just offense.  Well...maybe a little because off the ball on offense--is still on offense.  And this is where stats only show a very small part of the actual performance of any specific player.

Maxi is a perfect example of stats showing a bad game...when the opposite is true.  He played great off the ball on offense and on defense.  Maxi and Powell, and others, are playing against the monster Gobert (who I have determined to be an arrogant, fairly dirty player).  Royce Oneal is even dirtier, and gets away with it.  But I digress.

The game plan was good.  The team is clicking on *almost* all cylinders.  The refs were--fairly bad--most of the game.  Effort from both teams was good at the start, but the Mavs slowly started to thrash the Jazz and never let up--which is what they are suppose to do.

I would like to give the Dirkie to the defense, but I can't and won't.

Brunson storming back after sort of a down game was very important.  He showed the Jazz that they can't keep him down...he can do anything he wants...any time he wants.

Stick with me here.  I'm just going through the "Dirkie" thought process.

Luka did--Luka stuff.  This is also important after sort of a stinker game--for Luka.  During the third quarter Luka, along with Brunson, scored a knock down and started kicking the Jazz while they were down--which is great!

Oh hell...I give my Dirkie to Luka.
So many choices ... Bullock & DFS for incredible defense and valuable 3s. Luka and Brunson for shouldering the scoring load and keeping the offense running.

Without a clear candidate i went for a different route. One of the major changes from game 4 was that our frontcourt played a lot smarter on defense, managed to defend without fouling and still limited Gobert. We won the rebound battle and although our centers rarely secured the ball, they were often instrumental in keeping the Jazz from getting to it. Adding in important 8 points in the first 7 minutes to set the tone for the game and build an early lead, my Dirkie goes to Powell.

You are right!  And certainly not a bad choice.
The shimmy was the icing on the cake for Luka's dominance
