I’ve got no love for the guy. And I don’t object to a fine or even suspension. But man, Utah SHOULD be throwing punches, shouldn’t they? As the great Dylan Thomas wrote, “Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

Would rather pick up O’Neale or even Marcus Morris in the offseason than Rudy can’t-get-there Gobert. Am I wrong?
I'd rather that "force" be used to make a basketball play. Or, if not a basketball play, something rough that happens while trying to make a basketball play. Royce hit someone from behind with this elbow. That's not the way to "not go gently into the night" in my opinion. Whichever Morris hit Jokic when he wasn't looking was the same thing in my mind. And Morris got what he deserved.

Honestly, imho, you can put up a fight in a loss, make sure your opponent knows you're there, but still conduct yourself respectfully.

I'm out on stuff like Royce's, Morris's, Bynum's cheap shots.
I used to have Royce O'Neale ranked in the same tier as DFS when it comes to their role in the league as 3 and D wings. But DFS has blown him away this season as the better overall player. O'Neale might have the slight edge in shooting but DFS' defense is superior
There's a difference between tough and dirty.

Royce O'neal, who is 6'5" and listed at 226lbs blindsided a guy 4 inches shorter and 30lbs lighter from behind because he (and the rest of his team) simply weren't good enough to stop the guy when playing fairly. That's the opposite of tough. It's a coward's move and I don't want it anywhere near this team.

(And honestly, in the regular season games, I watched O'neal and thought he looked interesting--not something we'd want to trade real assets for, but certainly the type we needed more of. But he's now on my 'don't touch with a 10-foot pole' list).

Any news about the league looking at his conduct? Game is 24 hours from now. Still not sure how all 3 refs missed it? Especially after the 2 or 3 other times he hit Brunson leading up to that.

That was the most irritating thing.  That was the third time Royce roughed him up in a way that wasn’t a basketball play.  He was clearly trying to intimidate him with rough play and get in his head.

If the league hasn't made a comment now, I don't think they will.

I am so annoyed that basically 3 refs missed 4-5 straight possessions of a guy intentionally trying to hurt our best player on the court. And then after he successfully hurt him, our guy gets the tech for complaining.

Ridiculous.

Quick supercut of all the dirty BS O'Neal pulled.

Intimidating shooters with VERY physical play was a staple of league in the 1990s. Those were throwback plays. Fair to call it dirty. But it’s only an outlier in recent times.
So that's how you spell it!

Not even disagreeing with you but I am just now seeing that supercut for the first time.  Can you imagine if Steph was targeted like that in a nationally televised game in like ... 2016?  Wait, did the Cavs rough him up like that in the finals?
Jaxson Hayes got ejected for doing the same thing only not from behind to a defenseless player. Refs in our game didn’t even call a simple foul.
I think what Hayes did looks more pre-meditated and more violent (in other words, O’Neale was more clever about doing pretty much the same thing).

Maybe, but as others have pointed out, it was O’Neale’s 3rd shot at Brunson in about 2 mins of game time. I’m guessing the refs have special Royce instructions for this game.

I hope so - would love to see 0'Neale on the bench where he can't attack our players...
