Nah. Today I need to rant. Falls into the category of bad coping mechanisms but I cannot help myself. Couldn´t care less about the Knicks. Just frustrated about the Mavs.

Honestly we need to trade for CP3. He is still a strong perimeter defender. He can run an offense that doesn't rely on 3's and he'll actually match the competitive spirit Luka has.
I DON'T CARE WHO IT IS, GIVE ME STARTER CALIBER PLAYERS. All I see is a 5-star, a 4-star and a bunch of 2/2,5-star players.

Powell can't defend, rebound or shoot. And he's playing 29 minutes. Same goes to THJ. How are those two playing for us in crunch time? Curry, Wright, Kleber, Brunson are STREAKY. Only guy I liked today besides our MVP was Marjanovic (saved us at least 3 times when we bricked).

It is not an over reaction. I would even rant if we won.
I do not care if we win 10 straight on streaky contested early shot clock pull-up 3s.
That is not a viable game plan if you understand math.
These shots are bad from an eye test perspective.

From a stats perspective they might look good. But only over a whole season, never for single games.

There is simply too much variability/variance on these averages.

These kind of shots are never a good idea.
Tell me why the Dragic trade with Miami didn't go through again? Seeing as now he is coming off the bench for Miami, I really do believe the Mavs could have had him but turned it down because they didn't want to use up their precious cap space.

He would make a huge difference right now

There's no other way to spin it. RC won a title because he had Dirk. Maybe the tanking lost his edge, but for all the good decisions he made in the 2011 championship run, he's made way too many poor decisions since. I don't know if there's a better option out there, but right now the coaching staff isn't doing it's job.
Plus in 2010/2011 he had Casey for the Defense and Stotts for the offense.

Maybe it's not even Carlisle but his assistant coaches.

His contract is disgusting. He'll probably butt heads with Carlisle, but that will force Cuban to make Carlisle either adapt or leave.

I wish we could poach Quinn Snyder from the Jazz.

(take these post game ramblings with a grain of salt. This performance tonight has me seething. 7 games in a row now the Mavs look like they're tanking for another pick)

I disgust cp3 but he might be the *ashole* this team needs.

This place is more toxic now than it was through the tanking years. It's crazy that such a high percentage of you guys just blame the coach. I just read through your reasoning and I don't see a compelling argument against the coach in the whole thread, just a bunch of venting based on a belief that what you would have done would work better.

Nah. Give me this coach, this roster and give them some time to sort some things out and I think we'll see this thing play pretty well. We've seen glimpses if it and we've also seen that it's a work in progress.

I'll watch them work it out and enjoy the process rather than expect a new, young roster to have it all immediately figured out.

Losses are frustrating, especially to bad teams, but losses are part of the process.

I would enjoy progression.  Losing twice to the Knicks in a week while running a lazy chucking offense ain’t that.
We need to get rid one of Powell or Kleber. Can't afford to have too many soft "power" forwards. I'm tired of watching them get out-muscled every game.

Even KP is soft. But he has the talent and skills. We truly need MEAN, strong players.

Can't stress this enough.
Plus if you read on other basketball boards, most non Mavs fans question these things as well.

It's not fanboy outrage.

Maybe it's that building a good team takes time and hard work.

When was the last time you did not criticize the userbase and put in some fruitful information. I put a lot of valid arguments here for what is seemingly wrong. Plus add what is good and even compliment the other teams play.

Nothing is toxic here. Most users do in fact contribute in a great way.

It is not  toxic people are just finally waking up to the truth about RC. He just us not that good.
The points about 2 stars and a ton of bench players has a lot of validity. As others have mentioned, we don't even have a clear cut starter outside of Luka/KP. I haven't seen this recipe win elsewhere in the NBA. If I'm wrong, please give some examples as I'd like to be wrong on this.

Uh huh.  Pretty much the same defense of RC we've been hearing for years now.  The Mavs have not played like a well coached team in years.  The championship was in 2011.  That is eight years ago.  IMO, it's just time for a change.

Now thinking about it, do the Mavs have enough of a draw to try to get Tony Bennett from UVA?

Thats thinking outside the box imo. His teams are consistently powerhouses in NCAA. Most players drafted from UVA go on to have strong careers.
