Who was the player of the game who elevated his game to help the team win?
Only watched the second half but it’s KP to me.

24 points on 12 FGs, 9 boards, 6 assists, 2 blocks and a whooping +27 in a 16 point-win.
Lots of people played well in this one, but for me it’s Brunson. Best player on the court tonight.
Hard to pick between KP, JB, RB and DP.  I'll just vote God King instead.
The entire starting line-up played pretty good, all in double figures.  Off the bench SB, MC, and JG played pretty fair.  Who gets the Dirkie?  KP played pretty much like he should...if he wants to be one of the top bananas.  JG played like he should...if he wants to run his own team.  DP?...hmmm.  DP was part of the run that broke open the game and took all the piss and vinegar out of the Kings.   Plus he had 4 offensive rebounds.  I'm giving my Dirkie to DP.

One of the harder games to determine who gets the Dirkie.  Somewhat entertaining.  I hope the MBT is learning something from these 10 day covid players.  Do we still have an MBT?...or is that gone up in the air?
In a twisted way COVID has been a huge help for Nico and the Mavs.  I doubt the Mavs would have understood how good Brunson really is and picked THJ over him. They bascially already did once: this summer. Picking soon to be 30 year old THJ over a promising young big like Markkanen still hurts.

During his Ncaa days he had some absurd offensive stats, stuff like being in the 90+ percentile in iso/pnr and heck iirc even in the post. He just got whatever he wanted wherever he wanted.

Right now he’s close to having that kind of aura on the Nba level. It’s impressive how he just keeps getting better every season.

His midrange game gives me serious CP3-vibes.

Pinson and Chriss got 2nd contracts so at least they are seeing what we are all seeing?
Reggie "apology thread" Bullock...
JB

I hope Mark lets Nico manage this situation well.

Discount CP3 is what I've been calling his offensive game this year.  If he can work his craftiness to the three point line for a go to move and get his percentages closer to what he shot last year, he's going to be an unstoppable offensive force.
If Luka cant coexist with JB...or if Luka cant finds ways to create 5 on 4 and then pass to JB who should be able to exploit a quick 4 on 3...Kidd, Nico, Mark and Luka are low IQ.

Luka and JB should terrorize the league.

If JB's size is minor issue in Playoffs...his game should be able to exploit what Luka provides him(4 vs 3).

Im a JBeliever.  I think he can overcome size...even in playoffs.   Its what he thinks he is worth and what Mavs are willing to pay.  I would be very very reluctant to let a guy of his talent walk though.

Is an over-pay for a short contract not worth it in this case?  Over-pay for a prove it 2 year deal?
All 8 players in the main rotation had good games.

KP and JB both had good games - against limited opposition. KP at the level I would expect, maybe a touch above for JB. And DFS had notably more offensive impact than in the pre-Luka-out games, again, which was great.

However, I'll give the Dirkie to RB - he's had such a dismal season so far and this is basically a reversion to the mean. Let's hope his second half is more like this than the first hald.
This is one of the few games I remember that RB was part of why we won instead of a huge part of why we lost. He gets it for that. If he gives us this level of play the rest of the way, I wouldn't mind not trading him.

In the meantime, I'm trying not to burst into tears every time I think about the fact that THJ will be back soon.
Bullock bringing this out of nowhere was huge.
I was going to give this to Josh Green as I felt every time he was on the court he was such a positive influence and found a lot of chip ins, but have to go with JB steadying the ship after the Kings opened the 4th with a small barrage.

That's leadership and growth from him.
I would give it to KP or Brunson.  Dallas needed both to step up last night and control the game being shorthanded and very limited with offensive players.   Both did.  I really thought last night would have been a 15 plus point loss.    Glad it didn't happen.
