Who was the player of the game who elevated his game to help the team win?
Moses!
God King
..  MB9  ..
Moses should be our starting center. Despite his defensive shortcomings he puts much more on the table than some other guys we play there.
Thou shall not vote anyone besides Moses..
Voted for Moses. In truth, no one should really get this Dirkie as you could take any two or three Mavs out of the game entirely, let alone not have them elavate their games, and the Mavs should still have won.

But .. yeah .. I've seen enough .. Kidd should arrange for DP to be poked in the eye and then kicked in the nuts right at the start of every game from now on.
Moses. Though I'm actually starting to develop some expectations for Moses, if we get a similar stat line next game I'd have voted for Green
Moses Brown!  JG played fairly well.  Maxi Kleber also played fairly well, but the biggest reason I mention him is his points in the paint.  Why don't we see that more often?  Why did FN drop out of the rotation?  Ah...questions, questions, questions.

I gave it to Moses.  Loved his energy.   Second game in a row where he made his free throws too.    He is a factor when teams go to the rim.   One concern, is pick and pop defense.  Not sure who was at fault but OKC got wide open looks from three.   It is good experience for him though.

Because Green got his minutes, I guess. Looks like Kidd doesn't trust neither to be a PG. Mavs definitely need to consolidate talent. Powell is a waste of cap space in the system Kidd wants to play, so there is 10 mil of salaries to improve/dump. I guess the big question is - can Mavs survive losing "bench THJ" and replace his minutes with Ntilikina and Green? I think "bench THJ" is way overpaid. Replacement coming would be a big wing to start.

I see that to develop Green - who I'm fine with as a player (with the +ves and -es he currently comes with). I think it was you (maybe?) saying the Mavs should be able to afford 10m/game for Green, more or less come what may, since he isn't that much of a minus over other options such as benchTHJ, SBrown etc once you take the balance of O and D.

However ..... just as a comparison Frank gives you elite D (poa, man2man, switch-onto-a-big and team D/organization), Green gives you better than average effort and achievement at defence basics - its basically Bullock let D, but with a little less vet savvy. And Frank can shoot and can do some creating - although that will continue to be shaky looking, particularly if his minutes keep being f***ed about with.

What's actually happened (imo and whotf knows) is that Frank was out and Burke "played himself into the rotation" (fools gold and essentially a lie - but that's how Kidd sees it) and now gets to keep him minutes until something happens, we send out the saftey car and Frank can Verstappen-past him.

Yes, I have been preaching for Mavs to give Green minutes. And I think he is showing he can easily play 10 minutes per game without drastically hurting the team. So can Brown.

Mavs have just too many average players on this roster, don't forget S.Brown. Same thing at center with WCS. Sure Ntilikina likely surprised them, but Brown and to an extent Burke are more or less just eating the minutes of guys who actually have an upside. As it is obvious these Mavs are not contenders, it would be quite wise to trade away Burke/Brown for a couple of second rounders or youngsters with upside and give their minutes to Ntilikina/Green, imho. Develop the assets. I am not speaking about a full out tank, just trying to maximize the value of the scarce assets they have.
Just getting around to commenting.

The Dirkie for me was OKC's coach. After OKC made it interesting at the end of the first, Mark D. put Poku at center and turned the offense over to him to make sure the Mavs would get back in control of the game.

Otherwise, the Mavs shot like they always do these days, and would surely have lost to a team that didn't want to experiment with Poku for half a quarter.
