Really might be the worst defensive game of the season so far for him.

But I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say it's his injuries holding him back. Lot of start/stop quick lateral twitch movements needed for defense that might be quite painful for him with his ankle/knee.

I love how despite his conditioning limitations and injuries, fat Luka is still as lethal as it gets as a scorer. He's making a lot of dumb mistakes, which I have no idea why, but he's still a superstar.

No quesiton!! Luka is BY FAR the best and most important player on the Mavs! It just makes me sad how far he has fallen from where he was the last couple years and from where he COULD be.
What is Luka thinking with that three....
RB BABY!!!!

A play like that tells me Luka has too long of a leash. A losing play through and through. I know many here will probably say I'm focusing on just one play, but with 4 minutes to go and Memphis down 8, Luka decides to do a crazy long step back 3 after no one else has touched it, while simultaneously ignoring KP who had a mismatch and good post position.

Just a low IQ play and not needed. Glad Reggie covered that mistake.
Finally a decent game from Bullock
Hopefully can become the norm. Either way I hope we keep his minutes up and let it shake out how it will.

Maybe it isn't the right word, but I call it "lazy"....Luka "settles" way too often on plays like that and it really takes the team out of any helpful flow.
One things for certain, both teams think the refs suck

This is like the Celtics game all over again. Go up big with 3 minutes left and then have awful offense possession after awful offensive possession. Its like the mavs give up after they get a big lead.
Mavs are getting TERRIBLE shots on O....come on! Work the offense!

If you look at it this way, I can see why it is so upsetting for you.

Personally, I see this as a very slight “sophomore slump” bump in the road that has taken all the way until year 4 to happen because he’s so great.

And, in addition to the spacing issue we have talked to death, I think he is one of the players struggling with the new offensive system the most, mentally. The more I watch this year, the more I think Carlisle‘s decision to just give him the ball and space the floor for him was designed to help HIM just as much as it was designed to help the team. I think Luka was able to skip some of the young player growing pains because of that, or at least mitigate/delay them.
STOP MILKING THE CLOCK AND RUN OFFENSE. PLEASE.

3 straight possessions where they literally flung up a 40 footer with 4 seconds left on the shot clock.
Memphis isn’t taking this loss very well.

It was ugly at times, but they did it!
Well, there were some things to complain about, I suppose, but it was a win on a back to back against one of the hottest teams in the NBA and honestly, it probably feels great for them just to get a damn win.
Those long threes to run out the shot clock are garbage...especially since they don't get back on defense and it turns into an easy opportunity for the other team. They are better off just holding the ball and taking the shot clock violation if they are trying to run time

Good win IMO. Hard fought, physical game with a high level of intensity. Mavs need to win these kind of games.

Watching the Mavs is just stressful. Good win but the lack of consistency is killing me. Different quarter. Different team. Is there some kind of switch that turns on hustle and shot making?
