That's a lucky turn.

As long as KP doesn't play this should be a win.

I see what you did there.
Mavs and Stars both lost last night, need a DFW bounce back tonight. Must win game.

That means we will win the game.  That dude destroys us.

I left a word out. I'm really getting sloppy around here, lately. I used to proofread, back in the Yuku days.

Just really not good news at all.  At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce he is out for the season as he needs 6 disks in his back removed.

In all seriousness, I think it is making it worse how before each game the team says they hope he is back with the following game.   During the game he looks pretty engaged and looks physically fit, but then the next game comes up and he is out again.

This start is giving us zero confidence that he is someone you can count on.  Plus it seems like these injuries happen and for the most part you don't see the play he gets hurt.   But there he is out for an extended period of time.

Maybe all of that upper body weightlifting has put too much stress on his lower back?
We need to rebound from last night. SEGABABA is tough, but we can't afford to lose two in a row. Plus, we should be better than San Antonio.
Goodness, I loathe watching Boban play defense so, so much.
Rough half for my boy FN....0-5 and team worst -14....UGH.

Great stretch of D by the bench to start the 2nd quarter and then the starters played horrible D to end the half.
Boban was a factor in the first half.  Despite his limitations, he is a guy that attracts a lot of attention.  It is nice to have a big guy whose teams need to worry about in the paint.  He needs minutes in the second half.

I thought it was a poor end to the first half by Dallas.  A really tough contested fadeway by Luka, a no pass possession deep three by Luka, a turnover by Luka, and then a hurried deep three by Hardaway trying for a two for one.   San Antonio quickly made a 6-8 point game to a 1 point game at the half.

Frank has struggled today with his shot. Same with DFS.  I like how Kidd is finding some run for Green in a few of these games.  I feel like when Powell is in there San Antonio is attacking the basket.

I was wondering last year if SA made a mistake with Vassell.   In my game and a half of seeing him this year against the Mavs, it is starting to look like they may have gotten that right.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. Yes, he had 2-3 nice offensive possessions, but there were others during which he just clumsily gave the ball away, and all he can do is score (if the conditions are perfect). I rarely if ever see him generate shots for others as a result of the attention, which I agree he draws. All in all, I just don't feel like what he brings to the table offensively is justification for grinding the pace of the game down to a boring, inefficient crawl where the offense doesn't even start until 15 seconds into the shot clock. It kills me.

And on defense??? He can't defend the pick and roll, he doesn't guard the paint in other situations, his post defense is surprisingly bad, and he can't move his feet fast enough to be a factor as a defensive rebounder, despite his size.

He is literally on this team for no other reason than the almost unanimously held opinion that he's a cool guy, and to me that is emblematic of everything silly and sad about the Mavericks organization.

Great comments, more of you, please.

Yeah, Vassell seems to be the real deal after a rough rookie year. I would take him in a heartbeat.

DFS is now shooting 8-38 on threes this year....21%. UGH.

And yes, Boban in spots, surrounded by four switchable defenders is a good look IMO.
There was some comparison of crowds in Dallas and crowds in San Antonio. There are plenty of people disguised as empty seats in San Antonio. Quite few wearing masks. Quite a few not wearing masks. There is a lack of a full house at these NBA games, all over the league.
We can say there is a talent problem, and there is.  But Luka is not doing us any favors.  The offense looks terrible when he just dominates the ball.   Puts no pressure trying to fast break teams.   No ball movement.   Long threes, etc.  Then he looks like he is taking a jog down the court getting back on defense.  Not good.
