Gary St. Jean.  Summer league coach and Mavs assistant coach.

I understand that 21 and others detest Josh Green because he isn't Saddiq Bey, Maxey, or Bane, but I think his worst problem this year is simply not having found favor with Kidd and having too much comp on the Dallas bench.

I think this is wonderful. The big squad and the coach all coming to see the young squad together. Really cool.

What I learned is that he´s a kinda like Justin Jackson. Low confidence player, that has little game around the rim and a 3pt shot with a too slow and low release point. I think he might actually be a good WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE OPEN 3pt shooter, but you rarely get as much time at the NBA level as he probably needs.

LOL the massive difference between Josh Green and Justin Jackson is that Justin Jackson couldn't guard a fence post, whereas Green is one of the best defenders on a team full of very good defenders.
How long before people start noticing Carlik Jones? The only thing, to me, that's holding him back is he's shorter than the ideal NBA player. Other than that, he IS an NBA player.

Not just that he is short, he is also a very bad shooter, only 26 % from three. I guess defenses are not really stellar in g-league and it is more about posting good offensive numbers. Saben Lee is averaging almost 40 ppg in three games, for example.

Still, I think summer league guys have made great progress and Carlik Jones could certainly be considered as third string PG if Mavs decide at some point to build a more top heavy team.
Admittedly he's still developmental, but what does WCS offer that you don't get from Moses?

Seems to have decent hands, some touch around the basket, rebounding persistence and the hustle to get back on defense after even a good play.

I agree Moses is good on offense, but he is bad defensively. I am really not a fan of WCS, but Moses is more or less non existent on defense. Just raw. He could bring great energy from bench, which WCS doesn't at all, which is sometimes perhaps more important to lift a team. As much as Mavs lack assets to be a serious team, I would definitely prioritize Moses.

WCS really is an above average defensive center and that has been one of Moses's great weaknesses.
Since the Mavs are short of shorthanded right now, I was wondering if one of the 2way guys might get called up, although neither has really shined yet.

On a broader scope...

Jones has been very effective in the G league games. Sometimes he seems to be almost too talented for this league. How good do you have to be at this level to be effective at the main team?

He or Jackson would have to come in as a normal signing?

Yes
Jones isn’t playing today, anyone know why?

Omoruyi has 28pts at halftime
Omoruyi needs to get a few games with the Mavs and take at least all of Sterling Browns minutes, maybe some of DFS as well. If he can replicate half of what he does in G-League and Pre-Season in an actual NBA game, he needs to be locked up with a real contract fast. He's just a smooth balling, high effort, 2-way player, those don't grow on trees.

I'm so pissed that I couldn't watch the preseason this year. Is he really that good? I need to see this guy.
Good to see.  He has struggled shooting in some of the earlier games.  It looks like he had 8 turnovers.    Our other two way guy looked to have a nice game as well.
