So far we have covered:
- JRich with 95 % thinking he is gone
- Brunson with basicaly 50-50 split
- Hinton with 60 % for staying on only 10 votes
- Green with 87 % staying
- THJ with 65 % thinking he is gone
- JJ Redick with 100 % saying he is gone
- Bey with 70 % saying he stays

How about KP. Will Mavs trade him or not? What do you think they do? Simple yes or no, explain reasons in the reply.

I vote yes because Mavs wouldn't be able to find adequate value and because it makes little sense giving up so soon.

Yes
Yes, but I wish they could uncover a deal worth trading him cause that injury timebomb is ticking.
Sadly, yes.
I'm excitedly putting yes.

I'm expecting a big year for KP. Maybe Kidd finally figures out a better way to integrate both KP and Luka.
I hope not. I am completely OUT on Kristaps.

Any updates from Bob on him?
No on KP.

I was for trading him a little while ago but I've changed my mind.  We simply will not get any body back that will make us better than if we had a fully committed KP.  The good new is KP did not stay silent and kept what was bothering him to himself.  We know he wants to be part of the offense and at 29 million that should be his mindset.  Because he's gone anyway its best to just blame this whole situation on Carlisle and pray Jkidd knows what's up.
Lots of conspiracy theories around KP but really no mystery here... KP is what he is. When healthy he's a unicorn center in this league.

March 2020: “What [KP] is doing defensively and on the boards, no one’s talking about it, but he should be a defensive player of the year candidate based on his versatility defensively – he can switch onto smaller guys, he blocks a ton of shots, he changes a ton of shots, he’s a great defensive rebounder.” - Rick Carlisle

October 2020: Meniscus surgery and rehab

February 2021: “He’s had to play his way into shape, and it just hasn’t quite been the same. It’s not an excuse thing in my mind. These are just the true facts of what’s happened. It’s conditioning, it’s mind-set, and this week has offered the opportunity for him to dive into that and to work on it. We’ve just got to keep pushing. He’s got to keep sitting down in his stance.” - Rick Carlisle

July 2021: "This is a positive summer for him. He's healthy. I think he's really excited about this opportunity. I think he's a perfect fit for Luka. He has a skill set that a lot of people don't have in this league. As a coach, I'm very excited to be able to work with him" - Jason Kidd
I won’t say it would be a 100% bad decision to trade him this summer becuase there’s always that 1% chance some team willingly offers up a chance to fleece them … so let’s say there’s a 99% chance it would be a bad move to trade KP right now.

And it has almost nothing to do with being ‘in’ or ‘out’ on KP being a good fit in Dallas / with Luka but almost everything to do with his current value. This is arguably the lowest value he’s had in his entire career, which isn’t exactly the best time to trade a guy who’s also currently attached to the most expensive contract of his career.

Plus, superstar-player-whisperer Jason Kidd allegedly being able to get KP to play well with Luka and becoming a true superstar duo is arguably the main reason hiring him as the head coach / manager make some sense at all — so either way, we’re kinda committed to giving Kidd a shot at turning this thing around 360 degrees.
He's not going anywhere, yet.   They'll at least give him another year under Kidd to see if he can light the fire that Carlisle couldn't. But it's really on KP to work towards getting better.

I am aiming this post more at the "lets see how Kidd can integrate KP".

I get that there is a new regime in town...let them see what they can do with KP yada yada yada

But Luka was purposefully freezing KP out last year.  I will say that I believe Brunson would do it too.

Kind of hard to turn things around for KP when being offered the cold shoulder.

I get it...KP needs to improve on defense...offense isnt really the issue.

Why Luka would refuse to pass ball to wide open KP behind 3 point line and rather take the contested step back 3 himself is up for debate.   Just seems like a hard problem to solve for a coach.
I voted YES for November as I think there is a willingness in the NMBT (New MBT) to rehab KP's game and reputation in the hopes he becomes a more recognized contributor and helps improve the team.

That said, everyone is going to hold their breath and cross fingers (and toes and whatever else they can think of) that he stay's healthy. Every time he gets pushed down, or takes a charge, or moves to the rim through traffic everyone will hold their collective breath until he gets up and heads back down court.

For this reason, I'm not confident he will still be in a DAL uniform when the season ends.

Because Luka probably thinks he has a better chance of making it.  Luka thinks he can make every shot he takes, contested or not.
I think mid season is the best spot to trade KP. Even in NY, he showed his best stuff at the beginning of the year and then petered out towards the end. Build up his value as high as it can go, scoring 30ppg with 2.5 bpg (all star appearance) and trade him for a disgruntled superstar demanding a trade (Lillard).

Of course, if he does those things, there will be no thought of trading him and he'll get injured right before the playoffs and we're screwed for not moving him.
I don’t think anyone currently wants KP bad enough to pay for him at a level the Mavericks want. Until that changes he is ours. I hope he earns our Mavs love and hold out hope that he will.
I like him a lot as a player. I just don’t like him on the bench wearing a suit.
In November, yes. KP's trade value is currently at an all time low, and Kidd has already commented about how he thinks he can make it work between him and Luka. I think they're going to give Kidd that chance and I'd be shocked if he's traded before the season starts. Even if KP wants out the deal would be he'll have to play well early in the regular season to build up his trade value
