Donnie Nelson owns the Texas Legends, the farm team to the Dallas Mavericks.

So is Donnie selling the team, or do we have a guy that just got fired from the Mavs run the on-court development department of the Mavs?

Talk about dysfunctional front office structures, this is the mother of them all.
Better question. Does it really matter. They did not care for the team in the past. Don´t think that will change. Legends are the T`Wolves of the g-league. One winning season every ten years. Terrible scouting. No player development.

Well given that the NCAA is losing in relevance and players now chose to play in the G-League to prepare for the draft, it matters more than ever. You can´t just ignore the option to have draft eligible players to play for your G-League franchise to have an in-depth look at their personality and development.

And is that on Cuban or is that on Donnie? If its on Donnie, then it reasons to wonder how much of the poor scouting, etc. for the Mavs was on Donnie. We could find out that he is a consistent thread in some of this....

Totally agree. Used to complain about it but I have given up. Just look at lasts seasons tournament. Legends did not even participate.

Aren't those prospects all play on the ignite team?  At least the top ones

Honestly, I felt it was better that we have let our players join other teams. They had better experience in it than playing with the incompetent legends.
I used to care, but at this point I won't have a problem if they even dissolved it

I am talking about the Legends. Not the Mavs. Even though both are obviously connected. Mavs actually had some success with undrafted guys in the last couple of years but the development did not happen in the g-league. Guys like Kleber, Powell or DFS improved a lot but never spent any meaningful time in the g-league.
It really feels like the Legends aren´t even connected to the Mavs.  I don´t think this is a person A/B/C is to blame kind of problem. As @"Mavs2021" mentioned it is structural.
