Who was the player of the game who elevated his game to help the team win?
Luka...
KP
THJ - we expect and need those kinds of Luka performances so Timmy is the x-factor.
Lots of deserving guys today. Luka was awesome as usual, THJ raining 3s, Brunson with some big buckets, DFS acting like a shooting machine, KP coming up with some big late plays, and even JRich playing some terrific defense in his minutes.

No matter whether or not he wins the Dirkie today, I'm starting to get the distinct feeling that DFS is truly emerging as bona fide starter who is one of the most important players on the team. He's not a project anymore. He's legit.
Luka was of course the best player on the court, by far. DFS and THJ were both excellent. Brunson with some big baskets in the fourth when it looked like momentum is shifting Clippers way. Overall an absolute excellent team performance.
JB seal the deal for mavs in clutch  ..  in his first PO's game ... if that is not elevation...

Kawahi -15...
I mean Luka definitely deserves it.

I was watching the game with my dad and he exclaimed: "Sheesh he is Larry Bird, and that's the highest compliment I can give"

And I'd have to agree given how transcendental he looked on the court.

But we cannot win without THJ having a game like that, so the Dirkie goes to him.
It’s Luka for me. When these same two teams met last season in the bubble, it was pretty clear that Kawhi Leonard was the best player for either team. Now, I am not so sure that Luka isn’t the best. That is a freaking huge development.

Finney-Smith and THJ were both awesome tonight, and some other players had some really great moments.
This was a great team win.  BUT...without Luka it would have been much harder for the "team" to score.  Luka is the man at the center of the web...and he can really spin a good web....even under very adverse conditions.  This team needs another "big" guard/ball handler/creator,etc.  Brunson is good, but he isn't the "creator" we need to give Luka a break now and then. The defense was good, very good in fact.  Defense probably won the game.  DFS and Maxi were essential.  So...anyway...I give my Dirkie to Luka.  I love it when a team plays like a team...

Reminds me of the Lakers series in 2011 when it was clear that Dirk was the best player in the series, surpassing Kobe
Luka was the best player on the court, and deserves the Dirkie.

Honorable mentions for most of the team, and MM Sr and playoff PG.
When Luka gets numbers like this without lots of turnovers, I’m inclined to vote for him. Even when there’s steep competition.

But what really stood out for me today—and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this before—he ran 2 Clips starters right out of the game. Neither Zubac nor Beverly could stay on the court against him. The Clips couldn’t find a way to hide them. And even Zubac’s very effective interior offense couldn’t keep pace. He had to sit. And then never came back.

It will be fascinating to see if the Clips can find a way to change that. If they can’t, we’re gonna see monster minutes from Batum and Rondo.
Luka was unguardable.
The ability to remove Zubac from the game was huge... he was a big part of 2 runs that ended the 1st qtr and then in the 3rd. Luka manipulated the switch and just destroyed him.
